A Young Policeman is Held Responsible by His Mother-in-Law

One day, a 25 year old policeman at a local police station told people a story about himself: "The other day, my mother-in-law asked me, 'What kind of misdeeds have you done at work?' 'I didn't do anything bad.' I said. My mother-in-law handed me a Falun Gong flyer and stared at me, saying, 'Didn't do anything bad, huh? Then why do the neighbors call you the 'Wretched Policeman'?' I looked at the flyer and found my name prominently displayed in the flyer after the bold words 'Wretched Policeman'. My phone and badge number were also there. It had a detailed account on how I seized photos of their Teacher and how I ransacked their homes. I really didn't know what to say to her at that moment, so all I could do was to stare down at the floor and keep silent."

"We All Hope Falun Gong Will Rectify the Fa Sooner"

In a detention center in Beijing, many guards, deputies and inmates became disgusted with the swearing at and beating up of Falun Gong practitioners. They were even less willing to arrest those nice people. Many of them said, "We have seen lots of Falun Gong practitioners. We especially enjoy listening to the principles of Falun Dafa. We know you all are decent people, and we all hope Falun Gong will rectify the Fa (law and principle) sooner."

"Falun Gong Practitioners Would Never Do Such a Thing"

In a detention center in Northern China, there is a policewoman who sincerely respected Dafa practitioners. She told them in private, "Every time our superintendent filed his report, he would state that Falun Gong people are very refined, not like criminals, and we should do some serious investigations." Just because he said that, his superiors criticized him. "And I can see that you are really good. I want to leave my address and phone number with you. And if I ever get a chance, I want to learn Falun Gong as well." One day, 700 Yuan RMB (more than one month's income of an average worker in China) from two Falun Gong practitioners was stolen. The superintendent ordered an investigation. That policewoman said sternly in front of all inmates, "I believe Falun Gong practitioners would never do such a [thievery] deed!"

"I Will Not Detain a Single Falun Gong Practitioner Even if I Have to Resign as Superintendent"

The policemen in a detention center were gradually influenced by Falun Gong as they continually met practitioners. In July 2000, many Dafa (great law and universal principle) practitioners were arrested for appealing in Beijing. Since there were too many Falun Gong practitioners being held in other detention centers, they wanted to transfer some to this detention center. The superintendent responded, "Falun Gong practitioners are all nice people. I would rather resign as superintendent, instead of detaining a single Falun Gong Practitioner!" As a result, the superintendent resisted the pressure and ended up not detaining any Falun Dafa practitioners.

"Under What Authorization Do You Arrest My People?"

A local policeman went to arrest a Falun Dafa practitioner at work to attend a so-called "Re-Education Class." On hearing this news, the unit superintendent came forth and blocked the attempt, "She belongs to my unit, and I am responsible for her. What authorization do you have to arrest my people?" Since the policeman dared not take the action, he instead asked that the Falun Dafa practitioner write a pledge to not go to appeal. Immediately the superintendent said to the practitioner, "Don't write that pledge for him!" The superintendent went on to argue with the policeman. Finally, the policeman failed to either arrest the Falun Dafa practitioner or get a pledge and left with nothing.

School Principal Fights for Justice after Illegal Arrest

A Falun Dafa practitioner, who is a schoolteacher, was lured by a deputy agent for a 'talk' at the local police department and was then illegally detained until after a 'sensitive date' (a Falun Dafa anniversary or Chinese holiday) passed. The school principal was on a business trip when this happened. After he came back, he became furious upon learning his faculty member was arrested for no reason. He immediately went to talk to the Secretary General of the district. "The deputy agent and police department arbitrarily arrested my faculty member without any notice. It has severely disrupted the regular school arrangements. How can I do my work as the school principal from now on?" In response to his complaint, at the following day's district meeting, the Secretary General reprimanded those who were involved and called their names. Since then, the deputy agent and police department dared not to brazenly arrest Dafa practitioners anymore.

A New Atmosphere in the Neighborhood

This story occurred in a neighborhood: The deputy of the neighborhood committee posted some propaganda material defaming Falun Gong. Upon seeing that, a local Dafa practitioner immediately went to speak with him to clarify the truth, persuaded him to take it down. The deputy responded, "Please give me some time." Several days later, when that Falun Dafa practitioner passed the bulletin boards again, he found that the propaganda was removed. Right then, the deputy even came out and shook hands with the Dafa practitioner, saying, "You are a nice man. You are a nice man." The Dafa practitioner replied at once, "No, I'm a practitioner." The deputy said amiably, "A decent man will be repaid in kind." The Dafa disciple sighed with emotion: During this movement (persecution) with the appalling twist of truth and deception, there are still sensible people who dare to speak out the truth and do things honestly.
