[Clearwisdom.net] A large-scale English Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was held in the Amphitheater at Eola Lake Park in Orlando, Florida on January 27 and 28.
This experience sharing conference was slightly different from previous conferences in atmosphere and format. It was both serious and light-hearted. The speeches given by practitioners were simple and touching. Through discussion practitioners gained clearer insights on truly becoming a particle of Dafa. The length of the conference was originally set for only a day and a half, but in the end lasted for three days. Many practitioners did not want to leave after the conference and continued to study and discuss together.
The experience sharing conference had a great effect on the local western society. People from various occupational fields called to find out more about Falun Gong. A manager of a Qigong and therapy center called the local practitioners and said: "I took part in your conference and it completely changed my impression of Falun Gong." She eagerly requested that the local practitioners give seminars at her therapy center. The dean of a local university called and requested to hold seminars at their university. The president of a women's organization asked the local practitioners to join their Falun Dafa introductory seminar and activities. Many people from other cities who passed by called to ask about the practice sites in their own cities.
Carrie P. Meek, a member of parliament in Florida, sent a congratulatory letter to the conference and said: "Mr. Li's achievements are certainly very impressive. His message and testimony to the power of Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance are very needed not just in China, but also in the rest of the world. You can be sure that I am fully supportive of his work."
The Florida Experience Sharing Conference will continue to play a role of encouragement to western practitioners and for promoting Falun Dafa to society.
