On December 25, two practitioners and myself (I'm five months pregnant) brought banners to Tiananmen Square. It was already 9:00pm in the evening. There were a lot of sightseers on Christmas Eve. There were many disciples, too. Some of them practiced and some held banners. We unfolded banners quickly and ran while shouting, "Falun Dafa is good!" "Return our Master's clean reputation." The voices reverberated that evening in Tiananmen Square. At that time, a group of ruffians and spies surrounded us and pulled us into a car and sent us to Tiananmen police substation. When the police asked us for our names and addresses, we refused to answer them. The police said, "You practitioners should be dignified and aboveboard, then why do you go to Tiananmen Square to unfold banners in the evening and do not tell us your names?" We replied, "Just because we are dignified, we went to Tiananmen Square to unfurl banners right after we got off the train; just because what we do is open and aboveboard, we do not tell our names to the evil villains!" After listening, the police said: "Ok, then come back again tomorrow." They released us on the spot. On the second day, we were planning to go back home when the police's words popped up in our minds. We enlightened that we cannot go back. Then we went to Tiananmen Square to practice together. We were glad to see that many disciples unfolded banners and practiced, which was really magnificent and heart shocking. Ruffians and plainclothes hauled us into police cars and sent us to the Tiananmen police substation. Here, almost one hundred disciples, who did not say their names, were locked up in the open parking lot and those who said their names were locked up in an iron trunk and had to wait for local agents to take them back. Later on, we were locked up in Pinggu detention center. Vicious police forced us to have our pictures taken, but we did not cooperate. Then they slapped our faces and grabbed our hair to hit us against the wall. We closed our eyes and turned our heads around when they took pictures of us, hence we would not be recognized from the pictures. They asked for our names, but we did not answer them. They then tortured us in all many different ways. We did not cooperate with them, so they back-handcuffed us and hung us up. Although I am five-months pregnant, they unexpectedly and inhumanly seized my hair and hit my head against the wall. No matter how they punished us, we did not say anything. Then they locked us up in the central heating room. The air was abnormally dry over there. We felt very thirsty and could hardly bear it. They intentionally drank water loudly. After about half an hour, only one policeman was left. He pitifully opened the window and then said, "You do not say your names, but would it be ok if you give us pseudonyms to report to our superior?" We told him that Dafa disciples cannot lie. They did not have any methods, so they made up pseudonyms and false addresses for us and did not let us speak out. We did not consent to this, so they drove us outside to freeze. Having no results with this, after 20 minutes they locked us in the watching room. There were a total of 16 disciples in the watching room. We all agreed that we should not cooperate with them in any respect. Later we went on a hunger strike. When they tried to arraign us, we hugged together and shouted, "Suffocate the evil!" The police were flustered and then left without any results. In the afternoon, more police came and each of them held and force-fed one practitioner. At noon of the third day, they began to release people unconditionally. They drove us to the suburb and hurried us out saying, "There are buses up the way, you can stop them." They ran away swiftly. We got on a big passenger bus that could take us home. In the Yanjing inspection station, the police stopped us and asked if we were practitioners and if we would abuse our master. We solemnly refused them. They ordered a long distance passenger bus to take us to Tianjin. After we arrived in Tianjin, we went to Tiananmen again to unfurl banners. Then we were sent to Changping detention center. The police over there did not beat or abuse us. They did not force us when we refused to have our pictures taken and to be fingerprinted. One policeman asked, "Would you still not say your name and address even if you were to be shot to death?" I calmly replied, "It is not regretful if I die for Dafa." We were sent to the watching room again. We fasted together. The police did not interrogate, force-feed or pay any attention to us. At noon after three days, they sent me to a substation in Beijing and wanted me to tell my name and address. I did not say anything. Then a policeman's pager rang and he returned the call. I then left the substation. A taxi was coming. The driver said, " I came here to pick you up." I stepped in for the trip home. A practitioner in China January 4, 2001
