[Clearwisdom.net] Dafa practitioner Yang Qingmin, 33 years old, a worker of the second mining unit of Guandi mining area of Xishan mining bureau of Taiyuan city, Shanxi province, was persecuted to death on December 21, 2000. At 6 a.m. that day, Yang Qingmin finished work and returned home. After he'd been sleeping for two hours, personnel from the Guandi police station of the Wanbailin branch of the public security department came to his home and asked him to go with them, saying they wanted to question him about some of his fellow workers who were going to Beijing to appeal. Tang's wife initially did not take it seriously, because this kind of thing had happened several times before. At 2 or 3 p.m., several policemen came to Yang's home again and asked his wife if she had Dafa materials in her home. They told her that Yang Qingmin had escaped so they wanted to bring her to the police station.
On their way, they came across the director of the police station. During the conversation between the policemen and the director, Yang's wife heard them talking about someone who was receiving emergency medical treatment. She asked them if it was Yang who was receiving emergency treatment and they denied it, saying that it was a person who was fighting with other people. Yang's wife was detained at the Guandi police station until 3 a.m. the next day. Then the police told her that Yang Qingmin was dead, and asked her to identify his body at a hospital mortuary. At the mortuary, Yang's wife observed blood all over Yang's head, and at the back of his head, there was a bloody hole. Yang had died some time ago. His head was bleeding from all of its openings. The police claimed that Yang Qingmin "feared punishment for his crime, had tried to escape, and that he had died from falling off a cliff." However, they were not able to make consistent statements while describing what happened.
