[Clearwisdom.net] The Female Labor Camp in Hainan Province has held more than 60 Falun Gong practitioners captive between January and December 29, 2000. In this camp, detainees are routinely forced to work more than ten hours a day, 7 days a week, and are treated outrageously by their captors. Here are two specific incidents:
1. Falun Gong practitioners' human rights and dignity are illegally deprived
Falun Gong practitioners are not allowed to talk to each other. They are loudly cursed for simply greeting each other. They are followed and watched, even when they get a drink of water or use the rest room.
Falun Gong practitioners undergo frequent unexpected searches of both their belongings and their persons. It is not unusual for several policemen to restrain a practitioner while they search her body by removing all of her clothes. To protest this, many practitioners went on hunger strikes, but nothing has changed. Practitioners are threatened that if they do not obey, their detention period will be extended.
When Falun Gong practitioners are reciting Dafa articles, policemen order other inmates to gag the practitioners with towels or seal their mouths with tape.
When a practitioner, Ms. Huang Lianhua, was practicing the Falun Gong exercises, she was pulled down and held by several inmates so that she could not move. When she began to recite Dafa articles, the inmates taped her mouth, as ordered by the policemen standing by.
When practitioners were reciting Master Li's poems from "Hong Yin", policemen directed other inmates to beat the practitioners. Ms. Lin Zhuoqin was pulled outside and handcuffed to an iron pole. Ms. Deng Ling was pulled into another room. Several inmates beat Ms. Wan Limei. They blocked her nostrils and choked her.
2. Falun Gong practitioners' are treated badly for practicing meditation
Everyday, when Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lin Zhuoqin meditated, policemen ordered other inmates to shake her and beat her. For practicing meditation, Ms. Deng Ling was carried by four inmates into an office and beaten. She was punished by having to stand there until 2:00 pm. For practicing meditation, Ms. Xie Hui's hands and feet were held to the floor, while her stomach was kicked. There are too many other cases to list here.
Policemen always praised the inmates that helped them. "Well done!" they would say, even reducing their sentences. Whenever inmates stopped a practitioner from practicing, they would be awarded points to reduce their sentences. Therefore they are encouraged to treat practitioners badly. When a Dafa practitioner was found practicing Falun Gong, several inmates beat her. Under such extreme conditions, Falun Gong practitioners went on hunger strikes to protest.
Especially on December 11, policemen searched practitioners very brusquely. They seized Master Li's articles. Practitioners protested, but to no avail. Therefore, nine Dafa disciples went on hunger strikes, while other disciples wrote notes of protest.

Practitioner Zheng Qi's situation in Qinhai City, Hainan Province:
Zheng Qi is a male aged 24. He was a clerk of the Fazhan County Transportation Bureau, Qinhai City. In August 1999, he was arrested and detained for 2 days because he went to Wan-Lu Park, Haiku City, to practice Falun Gong exercises. In November, he was arrested in a tea bar and detained for 15 days for communicating with other practitioners. In June 2000, he was detained for 15 days because he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In August 2000, the company fired him because he persisted in practicing Falun Gong. On October 1 (National Day), he refused to go to a police precinct, and for that he was detained for 2 days. On October 6, he was taken away from his home, and locked in room 809, Jinrong Mansion, Qinhai City, where he was tortured (see details in article, "Witness of Zhuang Guangxin's death of evil torture", Minghui, November 2, 2000). Since the government feared that Zheng Qi would disclose the truth, he has been jailed in the No. 1 Detention Center, Qinhai City, Hainan Province.
