Fengtai Detention Center of Beijing is a den of evil. I was imprisoned there, and I know. With the exception of very few, the prison guards are without humanity. They are barbarous, walking around with murderous looks on their faces every day. They have lost their normal human nature. Whenever they felt upset, they would curse the inmates, and beat us.
At midnight on January 3, 2001, a female practitioner from southern China was taken away for her fifth interrogation. After about an hour, a policeman brought her back to the cell. She looked pale and was out of breath. She told us what happened during interrogation:
"An interrogator wanted me to give my name and address and I refused. Then he left the room and another three policemen came in to interrogate me. They first took my shoes off and hit me in the face with the shoes. Then one of them trampled on my legs with his heavy boots while the other two policemen took turns kicking and cursing me. They also used electric baton, shocking my mouth, nose, ears, forehead, top of my head and my hands. They didn't stop torturing me until they were exhausted."
That night, another female practitioner from the south of China also suffered severe torture during interrogation.
On the morning of January 4, 2001, an eighteen-year-old female practitioner was ordered to sit for pictures. She declined and all the practitioners in the cell supported her. Then a policeman brought three male prisoners into the cell and ordered them to beat us. They brutally stepped on our bodies while they hit us. Later they grabbed that female practitioner by her feet and dragged her out of the cell. Thereafter they force-fed six practitioners who were on hunger strikes. They beat those practitioners who didn't want to obey their orders and tied them to chairs. They slapped them in the face while feeding them. This brutality lasted for about 3 days. Two practitioners had been tortured too severely to stand.
