More and more practitioners have enlightened that clarifying the truth of Falun Gong is "assisting the teacher in the human world" and "cultivating yourself and benefiting others." Not only do they tell their relatives and friends, but also clarify the truth of Falun Gong to people by all available means.

Practitioners in some cities have continued appealing to all levels of government, telling them the truth of about Falun Dafa (Falun Gong).
Among the people to appeal, in some families, a father with daughter, and a grandmother with grandson. Three generations went to appeal. Some went to appeal by walking or bicycling thousands of miles. They told the government and people about their own practice in order to clarify the truth. Some wrote letters to tell the government leaders that they changed from extremely selfish and greedy people to noble people who do not care about personal interest and like helping others. Some told about their own amazing experiences in their recovery from a of variety incurable diseases.
Though the President forces every government to crackdown on Falun Gong practitioners using underhanded means such as firing from job, detaining, and sentencing to imprisonment, in some cities, there are always practitioners doing exercises in parks and grasslands. Sometimes, dozens of them practice together, sometimes one or several people practices separately in different places. Outdoor practice itself is a method to tell the truth of Falun Gong without using a word. If it were not good, who would like to practice everyday? Nowadays, more and more practitioners go outdoors to practice.
There has been widespread mailing of materials explaining the truth of Falun Dafa . Almost every institute in the society has received such kind of materials. Some practitioners enlightened to distributing Dafa materials after they received them "by chance."
In order to differentiate Dafa material from advertisements, practitioners folded all materials about Dafa into squares, put them in envelopes and distributed them to every apartment. Some residences have no mailboxes. So they attached the envelopes to the doors using a piece of tape. At the beginning, some government offices were so scared that they assigned people to watch day and night to find the people who were distributing materials. However, still there are more and more Dafa materials.
Some practitioners posted some articles such as "Kind people please come to know the truth of Falun Gong," and "An open letter to people all of Countries from an elderly lady." In residential corridors, bus stations, parks, shopping centers, there are such kinds of articles. Though these flyers usually were torn to shreds in a short time, practitioners thought that one flyer would have some effect even if only one person had seen it.
Many practitioners distribute some materials when they go shopping. Some practitioners hand out materials to passers-by. Some distribute materials to passengers or ticket sellers when they are waiting for bus. Some bring materials to other cities.
[Mainland China] Practitioners in Shandong Province were caught under suspicion of distributing materials to promote Dafa.
Zheng Junbo, a recent graduate, oft the Shandong Petroleum University, was rejected from being hired because of practicing Falun Gong. He is a Chinese citizen but has no place to go. He was picked up by police under the suspicion of distributing materials to promote Dafa. No one knows his whereabouts now.
Another recent graduate, at the same university, practices Falun Gong. Recently she was detained for 15 days for distributing materials to promote Dafa. It is possible she would be fired from her job.
More than twenty practitioners were detained, while reading Falun Dafa teachings and distributing materials to promote Dafa. One was released, and one was scheduled to receive a prison sentence.
[Mainland China] Things happening in the Beijing Xicheng detention center

In July, some practitioners in Beijing were taken into police custody , without any reason. Some of them were sent to hotels under arrest, some were sent to detention centers. These practitioners went on a hunger strike to appeal for their innocence. In Xicheng detention center, prisoners or guards dragged out practitioners who refused to eat for force-feeding. Four or five people kept a tight grip on each practitioner's head, hands, and feet, and one covered a practitioner's mouth (wearing disposable latex gloves) to keep him/her silent. Some practitioners were almost suffocated, some suffered from dizziness, chest pain, and breathing difficulties etc.

Some practitioners on hunger strike were sent to a nearby hospital for injections. They were cuffed with an iron chain connecting their right hand with their right foot, and were dragged to the hospital. Those who refused or did not cooperate to get the injection had their hands and feet cuffed to the windowsill for several hours until they finished receiving the injection. Since they were tied for so long, most of them suffered swelling and their hands and feet turned purple for several days.

Xicheng detention center performs a body search of prisoners, at will. The first test after entering the detention center is to take off all one's clothes for the officer on duty to check, so as to prevent Dafa practitioners from bringing in Falun badges or scriptures. The second test is after entering the prison cell; one must go through a body search again by an assigned prisoner. Some practitioners refused this and were slapped in the face with the sole of a shoe. After the search, practitioners' belongings, including quilts, beddings, bathroom tissues, washing and brushing items that were bought after coming to the detention center, were seized and used by the "head of prisoners" or veteran prisoners. (This phenomenon still exists in most prison cells).

The arresting officers are cruel and contemptible. Since some practitioners coming to Beijing from other places did not want to tell their names or addresses, they were tied to chairs with ropes for several hours and their bodies were full of purple marks. Some were beaten black and blue on the hips and it became too painful for them to sit down. Some arresting officers knew that Dafa practitioners hold a deep respect for their Teacher, so they tore Teacher Li's picture to shreds in front of practitioners, and some even pasted the picture over practitioners' mouths. They used these contemptible ways and defilement of practitioners' spiritual belief to force practitioners to give up information.

All of those who were sent to the detention center had to take pictures and be fingerprinted. Dafa practitioners enlightened that: we are not prisoners and did nothing wrong, we should not allow them to get evidence. So they refused to do these. To take practitioners' pictures, the police brought in several female or male prisoners to forcefully drag each practitioner. One held a female practitioner's hair; two others held hands, so that a picture could be taken. Those who refused to be fingerprinted were carried to a prepared bed, and had their feet and arms held down by prisoners. Their hands were forcefully pried opened by two prisoners to force them to take the fingerprints.
A practitioner said: "I am not afraid of thieves or rascals. I can call "110" (Note: the police emergency number in China) upon seeing them. However, who can I call when police arrest, beat people, search houses and confiscate personal property without reason? There's no place to appeal. The morality of human beings and society has degenerated to this stage, this is the most frightening thing!"

According to practitioners in the know, after Mei Yulan's case was exposed on the Internet, the guard named Sun asked practitioners why he was exposed on the net as he had only said one sentence. Many people had asked him about this case. He's like a frightened rat crossing the street and cannot stand up to others. He has a family and wants to live a normal life, so he asked practitioners to remove his name from the report posted on the Internet. During that period of time, many evil people restrained themselves due to the publicity of Mei Yulan's death; however, with the government's further suppression of Falun Gong, they continued their efforts again, unafraid. It seems that with the imperial sword in hand (a symbol of supreme authority), they can do things at will. These evil people are swollen with arrogance. People cannot help asking, who has single-handedly caused this government to institutionalize evil, violence, and crime?
