It was said that more than 600 Falun Gong practitioners had gone to Beijing to appeal during the "Two Sessions". Therefore, the provincial officials forced the local officials to crackdown on Falun Gong practitioners. Many practitioners will be sent to labor camps.
In Qi-li-he district of Lan-zhou City, a police officer was responsible for taking care of two drug-abusers and two Falun Gong practitioners. The police officer would be fired if he or she cannot prevent Falun Gong practitioners from going to Beijing to appeal.

Many local Secretaries of the communist party in Heilongjiang Province were removed from their posts for not being able to crackdown on Falun Gong practitioners effectively. Many practitioners still continue to practice Falun Gong privately at home.

A slanderous book on Falun Gong named "the Swindler of the Century" was found on the shelf of Xin-hua Bookstore in Chongqing City. This book is the about the same size as Zhuan Falun (the main textbook of Falun Gong) but with a retail price that is almost twice the price of Zhuan Falun. Who is the real swindler?
