On Saturday 4th November, Falun Dafa practitioners in Queensland demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises to the public at King George Square in front of Town Hall in Brisbane city.
The demonstration started from 2:00pm and continued until 4:00pm. Around 70 practitioners from various places in Queensland participated in the event, all wearing eye-catching yellow T-shirts. The practice site was decorated with Falun Dafa banners and colourful balloons. There were also on display photos about Falun Gong practice and the brutal persecution against innocent practitioners in China. Practitioners lined up in a neat formation and demonstrated the exercises twice, accompanied with Dafa music and explanations in English. The peaceful and solemn scene in the middle of the busy city centre attracted many passers-by and tourists. They stopped to watch and listen to the explanations; those with cameras took photos; some people simply sat down on nearby stairs and watched attentively from beginning to end; some walked over to talk to practitioners about Falun Gong and seek more information during the short break. A few passers-by were so impressed with what they saw that they joined the practitioners on the spot. They also went to the practice site to learn the exercises at New Farm Park the next day.
Brisbane's weather in November is generally hot. Although showers had been forecast for the day, the weather remained sunny and bright throughout the demonstration, and the showers made their late start only after the practitioners had finished the last movement of the exercises. It was another smooth and successful Hongfa event in the capital city of Queensland.
