I was married in July but for a number of reasons we decided take our honeymoon in November-December. We had reservations from last year at this nice vacation resort in Mazatlan. So that became our destination. My husband is not a practitioner. He wanted to take a trip to the Sierra Madre and visit the Copper Cannon. Therefore, once we arrived to Mazatlan, we took the bus to Los Mochis and from there the train to Creel. We arrived in Creel on Sunday afternoon. To my surprise the whole "pueblo" (village) was "waiting" in a manner of speaking. There was a festival in this "plaza" where the hotel, where we had reservations, was located. There was a street festival featuring local food and dancing. They had different types of activities like a marathon, and other competition-games for kids and adults. The atmosphere was very festive. I felt happy seeing all these people laughing and having fun while playing simple games. As soon as we checked in to our hotel, I went to give out flyers in Spanish and I told people I was going to be at the plaza the next morning doing the exercises, etc. They were all very nice and friendly. Many of them read the flyers with much attention. We stayed there for 3 days. There were many locals and Tahumara Indians walking back and forth during the next 2 days while I did the exercises and played the Falun Dafa music.
On the third day we left to go to our next destination in Mazatlan. This was a great contrast in comparison to Creel not only in the geography but its people too. I did the exercises on the beach. There were magnificent sunsets that made me feel very small in this complex and beautiful universe. I had taken approximately 1,000 flyers to Mexico. I took 30% of them to Creel but I had a few left over. During the last part of our trip, two women who worked in this resort came to learn the exercises. I gave one of them Falun Gong (Spanish version). They took copies of the book and arranged to meet regularly with another woman who was interested but could not come to do the exercises with me. The last two days, I still had approximately 600 flyers to give away. Something amazing happened then. They had an international marathon right on the street of this resort. Indeed the starting-finish line was a block away. There were thousands of people. The first day I was a little disorganized and did not arrive until after the race was over. I felt very bad about that. Later, I found out that the "big race" would be held the next day, very early in the morning at 6:00 am. This time I was prepared, but I discovered that it only took me a little over 30 minutes to give out all the flyers. Some took the flyers out of my hands and other just extended their hands for me to give them one. Then again, I felt sorry I did not have enough for all of them. Once more, they were very nice people. They also read the flyers with much attention and some followed me to ask more questions about it. That was the last morning and I had to leave at noontime. That morning a lot of things happened. A family I met earlier on the beach came to the hotel to give me back one of the Falun Gong books. The mother was supposed to come to learn the exercises but she could not make it. They came to return the book because they were surprised about me being so trustworthy. Her husband had read most of the book and we had a little time to talk about it. They still wanted to learn the exercises but I was leaving in two hours and had to finish packing. I called the woman who was working and knew the exercises and they decided to get together to start a group. An hour later a massage therapist called about the flyer. He and his wife wanted to learn the exercises. I put them in contact with this woman in the hotel and they were also going to join the group. Out of this group, one of the women is going to go back to her hometown in Guadalajara and the family was also to leave in 2 weeks to Colonia. When I came back I translated the exercise tape in Spanish and sent a few copies to Mazatlan.
I saw how much they are waiting for Falun Dafa. I felt sadness inside that I have not been doing more for the Spanish people. I am on my way to a South American country now.
