[Beijing] The widely circulated media piece entitled "Record of Conversations with Former Falun Gong Research Committee Directors Li Chang and Yao Jie" is a FAKE.

According to highly placed government officials, who are genuinely sympathetic to Falun Gong, these so-called interviews with the former Falun Gong Research Society members, supposedly showing them to criticize and debase Falun Gong, are sheer fabrication. Police and China's Central TV applied every editing trick and method of verbal manipulation at their disposal to produce this report. This piece of slander was deliberately used to deceive those who cannot distinguish truth from fiction. In addition we must point out that only one of the two persons, Li Chang, was a former director of the Falun Gong Research Committee, while Yao Jie is simply a regular practitioner.

[China] Policemen Develop Compassion, Discover the Truth and Learn to Distinguish between Fact and Fiction

1. While distributing truth materials, not too long ago, a 60 year-old woman was detained. At first, the police treated her in a fierce manner. Then the more the interrogation progressed, the more the policeman's manner and attitude changed and the less fierce he became. He haphazardly asked several questions and then asked another police officer for to sign the report in order to demonstrate to his superiors that this is an authentic police interrogation record. The policeman said, "Falun Gong brings righteousness out of chaos." Then he laughed, "I am kidding."

2. A 40-year-old female practitioner was seized and interrogated by police when she distributed truth-clarifying flyers. The practitioner did not answer some questions clearly. After the interrogation, the police showed her the written report and asked her to verify whether the record was correct. She found that the police wrote down very good answers to the questions that she failed to answer correctly. For example, "Why did you distribute the flyers?" The answer was "Because through Falun Gong I benefit a lot. I hope others will, too."

3. A guard in a detention center could recite Teacher's original words. Perhaps he had been trained. As a result, he became more and more kind. Sometimes he could even not fight back when he was hit or cursed. Once, he interrogated an older lady. After seeing his behavior, she said, "You'd better not only call me Falun Gong, you are Falun Gong, too." He said nothing.

4. A soldier daily supervised a practitioner on a hunger strike. One day the practitioner refused to say "Report." (It is a respectful address toward a jailer which usually only criminals are supposed to use, and means either "Excuse me," or "May I have permission to...") The soldier said to her, "We will not treat you as criminal if you say 'Report'." The practitioner thanked him for his kindness but still didn't say "Report."

[China] "The Bad People Should Practice Falun Gong"

A practitioner said to the leader of a work unit who is in charge of "transformation" of practitioners: "You are predestined to have contact with so many Dafa practitioners. So, what do you think of Dafa?" He replied: "There is no doubt about your character and kindness. I think that good people need not practice Falun Gong. The bad people definitely should practice." After the non-practicing employees read "Jiang Zemin Can Not Shirk the Responsibility for History", they warmly discussed Falun Gong and reached the conclusion that the good people in society need not practice Falun Gong, but the corrupted people in the Communist Party should practice this wonderful exercise."

[Changchun, Jilin Province] Falun Dafa Banners Flutter in Changchun

On December 11th, practitioners in Changchun City who had created a lot of scrolls and banners reading, "Return Falun Dafa's Innocence", etc. and displayed them on top of buildings, in streets and on trees. By the morning of December 11th, around one thousand Falun Dafa scrolls and banners fluttered all over Changchun. This was the largest collective activity to validate Dafa in Changchun.

[Anhui Province] Public Officials are Manipulated to Persecute Dafa Practitioners

Summary:

The two holidays are drawing near. "Public security" is still a big problem since Falun Gong practitioners are persistent and vigorous in their efforts to validate the Fa.

In Hefei City, a lot of flyers and posters were distributed, which directly disclosed the vicious, evil deeds of Jiang Zemin and his underlings. The flyers and posters have aroused a great response among average citizens. Authorities cautioned that every work unit should carefully watch on their own for Falun Gong practitioners' activities. If someone found a practitioner posting flyers, the person denouncing a practitioner would receive the following monetary rewards: 200 Yuan from his work unit, 200 Yuan from the local residence committee, 1000 Yuan from the City government and 2000 Yuan from the provincial government. In addition, the practitioner's private property will be confiscated and he/she will be sentenced to two years in prison. The authorities issued an alert to all unoccupied persons, Falun Gong practitioners' friends and relatives and all others who would be willing to destroy this practitioner's family and life, and make his friends and relatives hate Falun Gong.

Example one:

Zhejiang Provincial Court detained a Falun Gong practitioner and then released him without charging him. The practitioner went to Beijing again to rectify the Fa. After the State Council heard about this, the chief justice of Zhejiang Province was dismissed from his post for allowing this to happen and the practitioner was sentence to three years in prison.

Example Two:

The following document was distributed to every section of government directly under the authority of the provincial government and reads as follows:

"We applaud the members of the security unit of Anhui Province's Traditional Chinese Medical Institute, who tail Falun Gong practitioners when they leave of their homes. Every government department should follow this example."

[Pi County, Sichuan Province] The police in Youai Town, Pi County, brutally persecuted a crippled Dafa practitioner

Xiong Qixiang, a crippled practitioner who runs a ceramics business, was arrested at home on November 28. The police arrested him upon finding Dafa books and Dafa materials in his home. At first, they asked Xiong's wife and daughter to persuade him to stop practicing Falun Gong, but failed. Recently, they decided to sentence Xiong Qixiang.

Though Xiong Qixiang has a crippled leg, his strong belief in Dafa is unshakable. The local residents showed great indignation at the evils' daring actions toward a crippled man by the police in Pi County.

[Shulan, Jilin Province] The Persecution of Practitioners in Shulan, Jilin Province

1. Song Bing, female, from Shulan City, was sentenced to one year in a labor camp for going to appeal. In spite of the fact that her term has been served, she is still being detained in Changchun Women's Prison.

2. Since July 1999, Song Yanqun, female, from Shulan City, has not been allowed to go out or go to work. Even her marriage application was refused. After appealing, she was sent to labor camp and to this day is still detained in Changchun Women's Prison.

3. Since August 2000, Niu Yuhui, from Qingfeng Town, Shulan City, has been detained in Changchun Women's Prison. The conditions at Changchun Women's Prison are atrocious! The demons at that facility often beat and shock practitioners. The inhuman guards also order the common criminals to harass practitioners, preventing them from sleeping and practicing.

4. In November 2000, Liu Wenliang, male, from Qingfeng Town, Shulan City, was forcefully taken back by officers from the Qingfeng Town Police Substation, while he was on a trip out of town. These demons tried to force him to admit that he was appealing, but he refused. The head of the police substation Zhang x and a policeman, Chen Naixin, brutally beat Liu to the ground, and kicked him on the head and face with their leather shoes. They went away after Liu lost consciousness. At present, Liu Wenliang has a big swollen head and face, and vomits frequently. He is hospitalized in Qingfeng Hospital.

[Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Wang Hongbin, the Former Vice Director of Shijiazhuang Assistant Center, was Forcefully Taken Away and There is no Information about his Whereabouts

1. On December 5th, at 5:00 PM, Wang Hongbin, the former vice director of Shijiazhuang Assistant Center, was forcefully taken away from home by those claimed to be from Changan Police Substation. At the time of his abduction, his home was also illegally searched. There is no information about his whereabouts. His wife, Feng Xiaomai, was forced to leave home. Only his 11-year-old son and elderly mother are at home now. They have to endure poor living conditions. We hope all the kind-hearted people among their neighbors and in the community will look after them.

2. Luu Xinshu, a teacher from Tatan Primary School, Shijiazhuang City, was taken away at the same day. The whereabouts of his wife Sun Xiangju are also unknown.

[Jinan, Shandong Province] The Names of 11 Dafa Practitioners and One Child Sent to Labor Camp from Jinan Steel General Company

There are a total of 11 employees and 1 child from Jinan Steel General Company who were sentenced to a labor camp due to firmly cultivating Dafa.

1. Wang Hongzhang, male, a retired engineer, former vice director of Licheng District Dafa Assistance Center, Jinan City. He was sentenced to labor camp after he went to Beijing to appeal on October 1, and refused to write any Guarantee Letter.

2. Wang Xia, female, a retired teacher from the middle school attached to this company, was sentenced to a labor camp for appealing in Beijing on October 1st, and refusing to write a Guarantee Letter.

3. Zhang Wei, female, a retired worker, went to Beijing to appeal on October 1st, and came back safely. After her return, she was detained for one month by the company police substation. She was subsequently sentenced to labor camp for insisting on practicing Falun Dafa and refusing to write the Guarantee Letter.

4. Wang Zishu, female, a retired senior teacher of the attached primary school, went to Beijing to appeal on October 1st, and came back safely. After her return, she jailed was for one month by the company police substation. She was subsequently sentenced to a labor camp for insisting on practicing Falun Dafa and not writing a Guarantee Letter.

5. Xie Aiying, female, a retired employee of the attached hospital of the company, was forcefully brought to her hometown while on her way to appeal in Beijing on October 1st. She was sentenced to a labor camp because of cultivating Dafa.

6. Zhan XX, female, a retired employee, went to Beijing to appeal on October 1st, and was taken back and sentenced to labor camp because of her refusal to write the Guarantee Letter.

7. Wang Jing, female, 26 years old, worked in Zhejiang Art Institute, and is the daughter of an employee of the Jinan Steel Company. She was sentenced to labor camp for going to Beijing to tell the truth.

8. Feng Zhen (the son of Zhan XX), male, 24 years old, also an employee of this company, went to Beijing to appeal on October 1st. He was detained by the Beijing Police and directly sentenced to labor camp.

9. Sun Shengxuan, male, 25 years old, went to Beijing to appeal on October 1st, was taken back and sentenced to labor camp.

We have no way of knowing another three practitioners' names because of the information blockage. All the 12 practitioners mentioned above have been sent to Wangcun Detention Center.

Some of the relatives of those practitioners told us that Wangcun Detention Center now is detaining more than 400 practitioners. There is no more room to accept any additional practitioners. In the future, local governments will handle and deal with practitioners' sentences locally. Some practitioners who have already been sentenced to labor camp presently are detained in local government facilities. They may be forcefully transferred somewhere else.

[Chongqing, Sichuan Province] Partial List of Practitioners Detained or Sent to Labor Camps in Chongqing City

In Yubei District, Chongqing City, He Youli (male, 27 years old, employee of Chuandong Drilling and Probing Company) and He Xiurong (female, 32 years old, former employee of Chuandong Drilling and Probing Company, who has been dismissed) were detained last July for distributing and mailing Dafa truth materials. They have been in detention for 4 months and currently are located in Yubei District Detention Center. It is said that they will be sentenced to labor re-education camp.

Some other practitioners in Yubei District who were sent to labor re-education camp:

Chen Changying, female, 40 years old, was arrested for distributing Dafa truth-clarifiyng materials in July. She was taken into custody in late November and sentenced to labor re-education camp for one year.

Huang Enju, female, 45 years old, was arrested for distributing Dafa materials in July. In late November, she was sentenced to labor re-education camp.

Wang Aihua, female, 40 years old, was an employee of No. 2 Mechanical Repair Factory of Chuandong Drilling and Probing Company (she has been dismissed). She went to Beijing to appeal on May 5, 2000. In mid-May she was forcefully returned and detained for one month. Later, in July she was sent to labor re-education camp for one year.

Wang Xiaoxia, female, 30 years old, was detained for 15 days after she practiced at Tiananmen Square. In July, while she was in the "Education Class", her home was searched and they found Master Li's scriptures. Because of that, she was detained for one additional month afterwards. In September, she was sentenced to labor re-education camp for one and half years.

Bai Suying, female, 45 years old. Last April, after she went to Beijing to appeal, she was sent back and fined 5,000 Yuan. She was arrested again when she practiced at Tiananmen Square and was detained for one month. Later she was sent to a labor re-education camp for one year.

Zheng Yongchen is a female, 50 years old. She moved from Xingjiang Province to Yubei District, and was detained after going to Beijing to appeal. She was arrested again when she practiced at Tiananmen Square. After one month of detention, she was sent to a labor re-education camp for one year.

The above practitioners were all detained at Jiangbei District Maojiashan Female Labor Re-education Camp. They were kept in No. 1, 2 and 3 squadrons. Currently, there are more than 300 Dafa practitioners detained in this labor camp. These practitioners make up over one-third of the total number of people detained at Maojiashan.

[Sichuan Province] Officials in Sichuan Openly Tread on the Law by Arbitrarily Arresting Falun Gong Practitioners

Falun Gong practitioner Zhong Sufang, a female from Dukou Village, Hesheng Town, Wenjiang County, Sichuan Province, was taken into custody in the afternoon of November 27 while doing housework at her home. Feng Yong, the director of the local police station in Hesheng Town and another policeman took her to the jail at Ningxia Street in Chengdu City. Zhong had not violated any laws, but she was illegally sent to jail without due cause. Currently it is unknown if she has been sentenced. According to her family, Zhong is appealing to the Public Prosecutors Bureau. Falun Gong practitioner Hu Yuzhen, from Yucheng Village, Hesheng Town, Wenjiang County, was put in the same jail under similar circumstances.

[Chengdu, Sichuan Province] The Bitter Experiences of Practitioners from Jinma Town, Wunjiang County, Chengdu City

On June 28, 2000, twenty Dafa practitioners from the Jinma Town spontaneously went to Beijing to appeal. While they were buying their tickets at Chengdu train station, they were arrested and taken back by police. Their tale of misfortune and horror began there, and continued as follows:

The first night, Lei Yong, the director of Armed Forces Department at Jinma Town, and another official detained the practitioners in a classroom at Jinma Middle School. They opened all the windows and pulled up their sleeves and pant legs, affording no protection from mosquitoes, which suing them throughout the night.

On the second day, the practitioners individually endured and passed severe tests. Each of them was pulled out from the room and brutally beaten. The policemen also repeatedly kicked practitioners, burned them with cigarette and scalded them with hot water. They whipped practitioners and tied them up with thin ropes. Every practitioner's body was covered with horrible wounds and blood. Some of them could not even walk and therefore had to be carried home.

Every one of the twenty practitioners was beaten. Yang Xuehua and Du Ancheng were secretly cuffed to the antenna pole on the roof of the Town Hall. The policemen beat and cursed them everyday. The police did not stop their bestial beatings, even after the bodies of the practitioners became grossly disfigured from the savage, vulgar, inhumane handling by the demonic forces. They also shamed and humiliated the female practitioners by touching their bodies inappropriately and watching them while they used the bathroom. The practitioners were tortured for a week on the roof of the City Hall while being exposed to the baking sun during the day and rain at night.

The policemen also ransacked the practitioners' homes and fined them. Practitioner A was fined 1,800 Yuan; practitioner B was fined 2,000 Yuan; from practitioner C they stole a carton of cigarettes and in addition fined him 1,600 Yuan; practitioner D was fined 3,000 Yuan and her TV, refrigerator, telephone and DVD were confiscated; practitioner E was fined 1,800 Yuan plus a carton of cigarette was stolen; practitioner F was fined 450 Yuan; practitioner G was fined 100 Yuan and her two pigs were confiscated; practitioner H was fined 3,000 Yuan. Thirteen other practitioners were all fined before they were released.

[Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Exposure of the Dark Side of Longquan Detention Center in Chengdu City

The following report details some of the vicious behavior of guards and acts in complete violation of human rights which take place everyday in Longquan police substation detention center of Chengdu City.

Practitioners, young and old, are beaten and kicked after they are detained. This illegal, inappropriate behavior intensified and became even more violent after practitioners were charged with criminal detention. At first, a young practitioner was beaten violently. After that, he was stripped and the policemen continuously poured freezing water on him, which was unbearable torture, since this happened during the coldest weather, prior to the Spring Festival. He was also force-fed more than twenty cups of cold water. As if those depraved abuses were not enough, those animals also forcibly brushed his teeth, during which they violently probed his mouth with the toothbrush. His mouth was full of blood. Then, they stuffed lighted cigarette butts into his mouth and forced him to swallow them. They urinated on him, covering him with urine from head to toe. They used a steel brush to rip into his back while pouring the cold water on him. On top of all the tortures he was already forced to endure, those creatures forced him to do push-ups and other exercises. From all these violent mistreatments and tortures in this icy cold wind and weather, the practitioner was close to fainting. He was also beaten daily during his 30 days of detention.

Another practitioner was detained for the second time. Although he was very tall and strong, he was beaten so harshly that he fainted. The policemen poured cold water on him to wake him up again and continued to harass and insult him in all possible ways. In addition to being beaten, he was forced to work long hours. Sometimes, they allowed him only 2 to 3 hours of sleep. It was hell on the earth.

[Jilin Province] Until They are Being Paid Money, Officials from Jilin Government-Liaison-Office in Beijing Won't Release the Practitioners

An elder male practitioner from Changchun City went to Tiananmen Square and unfurled a banner. He was arrested and detained at Jilin government-liaison-office in Beijing. When his family came to take him home, the officials told them to hand over 1,000 Yuan for his release. It is unknown how much unlawful money the officials at Jilin government liaison-office in Beijing have extorted from those practitioners who had been detained in their office.

[China] Names and Stories of Practitioners from Shanghai City and Gansu Province who were Sent to Labor Camp

Liu Peng, teacher of Public Security Higher Vocational Training School in Shanghai, and his wife went to Beijing to appeal in May 2000. After they were sent back to Shanghai, Liu Peng was sentenced to labor camp for two years. He is currently at Baimaoling Labor Re-education Farm in Xuancheng City, Anhui Province. His wife was fired from her job. They have a child who is only one year old. Currently, the family is suffering severe hardships.

Dafa practitioner Dong Xuezhou from Jiayuguan in Gansu Province was arrested because he distributed Dafa materials. Recently, he was sentenced to labor re-education for 1.5 years.

[Dalian, Liaoning Province] Dalian Public Security Bureau Hires Retired Citizens to Watch Practitioners Who Distribute Dafa Materials.

As soon as they find out that someone has returned from Beijing, the police in Dalian strengthen their persecution of Dafa practitioners. Recently, Dalian Public Security Bureau has hired retired people to especially keep watch on those Dafa practitioners who distribute Dafa materials. It is said that these senior citizens, in addition to receiving monetary rewards, had their meals paid for by the evil persecutors. We urge practitioners who distribute Dafa materials to proceed with great caution.
