On October 1, 2000, Falun Dafa practitioners Zang Xiuqing and Chen Lingmei were arrested for practicing the Falun Dafa exercises in Tiananmen Square. They were brought back to Yihezhuang village, Zhuozhou City by local government officials. They were detained in a village government conference room along with Wang Gang, Zhang Mo and his mother, who were arrested because they continued Falun Dafa cultivation practice at home.
A few days later, under the supervision of the village head Ma xx (previously the secretary-general of Zhuozhou City), deputy villageheads, Ren Binghui, Sun xx and their staff began to torture these practitioners. At first, starting at 6am, the practitioners' hands were cuffed with their arms spread around a big tree. Seeing that these practitioners still insisted that they would practice Falun Dafa, the officials believed that this punishment was too insignificant to achieve their goal of "transformation." More brutal punishment was then adopted. The detainees were hung for three to four days by just one arm with their feet barely touching the ground and they were not allowed to sleep. During this period of time, they were also beaten with ropes made from three aluminum cables twisted together. Each cable was the size of a finger. The practitioners' backs and legs were covered with bruises and were swollen from the beatings. The officials tried forcing them to give up Falun Dafa practice and to curse Dafa and Master Li. Rejected by these practitioners, the officials became more angry and poured ice water on Zang Xiuqing's face. Still not satisfied, they poured a bucket of ice water down her neck. Ren Binghui took off Zang Xiuqing's trousers, leaving only her underwear, and continued to strike her. Zang Xiuqing, who was overwhelmed with great mental and physical pain pretended that she would give up the practice. Later, she felt that she had wronged Master Li and tried to hang herself. She heard a chirp-like sound and saw light. Then the rope was broken. She realized that Falun Dafa practitioners should not commit suicide. Neither should they die like that. She went back to the courtyard where she was detained. She firmly believed in the cultivation practice and never gave in to the torture again. Chen Lingmei quietly endured one beating after another and did not give in. Both practitioners escaped from that wicked place some time later.
They injected Zhang Mo's mother with medicine and violently beat Zhang Mo in front of his mother. They used such ruthless and shameful tactics to "educate" Falun Gong practitioners.
Details of the torture of Falun Dafa practitioner Bai Caiyun from Diaowo Village, Zhuozhou City
There had been someone watching watching the home of practitioner Bai Caiyun since October 1 (Chinese National Day). On the morning of October 10, more than ten policemen suddenly rushed in and searched her home. They confiscated several Falun Dafa books and copies of handwritten materials and took her to the Diaowo police station. Over 10 policemen and Wang Chaolun (deputy village head) took turns slapping her face, cursing her and kicking both of her feet. Abusive language was used throughout the entire interrogation. They tried to force her to tell them where she got her books and materials from. One of the head officers, Hou XX, said, "What is the law? XX Party is the law. The higher authorities have ordered: Kill one Falun Gong practitioner, one less remains."
They did not get any results from their interrogation. They then cuffed one of her hands to a bed.
Bai Caiyun said she saw that several of the policemen who guarded her were taking medicine the morning after her arrest. The policemen not only did not regret their wrong doings, but blamed her for their sickness: "You see, we all got a cold just because we watched you."
Three more practitioners from Zhuozhou City were sent to labor camps
Xing Junhua is in her forties. She lived and worked in Huabei Aluminum Factory. She is serving a three-year term in a labor camp. She was a staff member in the commerce bureau. In December 1999, she went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa, because of which she was later fired from her job. She went to Tiananmen to validate Dafa again on October 1, 2000, and was arrested. This was her fourth time being arrested. She was put in a detention center. She began fasting to protest. After 13 days, she was put into the lockup. She continued her fast for another period of more than ten days. The guards inserted tubes into her body and force-fed her.
Han Yuhong, a 26 year-old woman from Baichigan Village, Zhuozhou City, is serving a three-year term in a labor camp. She was arrested because she went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa on National Day (October 1). This is already her fourth arrest. She is thin and small, but her words are firm and powerful, which have awoken many practitioners and made them become more determined.
Liu Aijuan, a 32 year-old woman from Second Street in Zhuozhou City, is serving a two-year term in a labor camp. She was arrested because she went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa on National Day.
