[Beijing] Dafa Practitioner Piao Shulan Losses Memory from Gas Poisoning during Detention
Dafa practitioner Piao Shulan was poisoned by carbon monoxide while being detained in Zhoukoudian Police Station in January of this year. She suffered serious mental injury and lost her memory. She cannot take care of herself and is being taken for high-pressure oxygen therapy five to six times per week. So far no one is taking care of her.
Dafa practitioner Liu Zhilan died from gas poisoning in the same Zhoukoudian Police Station. Her family members are very angry. Due to a lot of pressure from society, the police station dealt with this event by paying about $3,600. However, the person who committed the crime has not yet been punished.
[Beijing] Nine Dafa Practitioners from Zhuzhou, Heibei Province Arrested in Tiananmen Square on October 22
On October 22, 2000, nine Dafa practitioners (including a three-person family, Ms. Su, Ms. Cao, and other unknown practitioners) from Zhuzhou, Heibei Province went to Tiananmen Square to appeal peacefully. They were unlawfully arrested and detained in Zhuzhou Detention Center. Visiting them has been forbidden so far (possibly due to wounds on their bodies). They will be unlawfully detained and fined about $3,600 (nearly a common worker's income of four years).
[Beijing] Dafa Practitioners from Haidian District, Beijing Arrested for Going to Tiananmen Square on October 1
Chen Guichun, a male practitioner from Yangfangdian, Haidian District, Beijing lost his information since he went to Tiananmen Square on October 1. On Oct. 6, police searched his home and took away pictures of Mr Li Hongzhi from his desk. On the 17th, a neighbor practitioner received a postcard from Xicheng Detetion Center, so he sent clothes and about $36 to the detention center.
[Beijing] Dafa Practitioners Viciously Beaten in Fangshan Detention Center, Beijing
Practitioners Zhu Junli, Shi Baomin, Hao Chunyun, Duan Zhirong, Yang Fu, Li Xuedong and others from Banbidian Village, Cijiawu, Hebei Town, Fangshan District, Beijing were arrested when they went to appeal on October 6. They were sent back to their hometown and brutally beaten, and held in the detention center.
In order to deal with Falun Gong, the town government established a "working team" by hiring more than a dozen hatchet men. They forced practitioners to kneel down facing a wall and beat them with steel wire ropes. Not daring to be seen, they clutched the practitioners' necks to not let them see who was beating them. Shi Baomin, a fifty-year old female practitioner who went to appeal five times was not able to stand after the beating.
They were sent to Fangshan Detention Center after being forced to stand for eight to nine hours. Due to hunger striking, Shi Baomin was so weak that her life was in danger. She was released on October 19. The director of the village clamored, "I have a lot of methods. I'll treat you to death. You have no right to sue me. The country supports us in executing you all in two months." How stupid evil people are! They don't know how harsh their punishment will be because they persecute those innocent people!
