Validating Dafa is beneficial to humankind, society, and practitioners

My name is Lei Yuhua (alias), male, 37-year-old, and I am a peasant from a county of Sichuan province.

I joined the army in 1984 and my waist was injured in an accident in 1985 while I was carrying out orders. Military doctors diagnosed it as a bone spur, which had developed after the accident. In October 1986, I retired from the army and returned to my hometown. At that time my old disease came back and I also started to suffer from other diseases, such as cholecystitis and endomyocarditis. Long-term medical treatment turned out to be futile for me. I felt great difficulties when moving around and could not even turn my body over by myself. Doctors said I would soon be paralyzed. The great pain in my body and the stress on my brain put me in distress all day long and also caused great financial problems for my family. I appealed many times to the village, district, and county governments, the county civil bureau, county disabilities alliance, district civil bureau, and military departments for support and help with my medical expenses and other difficulties. Soon afterwards, the military and the local civil bureau decided to give me subsidies and issued me a certificate of disability. Nevertheless, the medical expenses for treating my severe diseases plus the heavy agricultural tax made it impossible for my family to survive. I really felt that to die would be better than to live. I started to think about putting an end to my life to escape these sufferings.

It was under this extremely difficult situation that I encountered Falun Dafa on January 26, 1997 when I returned to my hometown, still suffering from these serious diseases. There were some Falun Dafa practitioners spreading Dafa at the bridgehead of the town. I went over and asked whether I could get rid of my diseases after practicing. To answer my questions, they introduced Falun Dafa to me in detail. Since then, I have undertaken this journey of cultivation. By reading Falun Dafa books and practicing the exercises, miracles took place and my body has been changed greatly. Several serious diseases that I had were eradicated. It is Master Li Hongzhi who has given me a new life. It is Falun Dafa that has brought me a renascence. Since then, I have not taken a single pill of medicine. I no longer need to ask the government for help in resolving problems in my life. I paid off all the over due agricultural taxes as well as other outstanding bills from the government. In order to lessen the burden of the government, I voluntarily contributed my disability subsidy to the country. I did everything according to the requirements Master Li stated in Zhuan Falun, and demanded myself to be a better person in strict accordance with the criterion of Dafa.

By reading Zhuan Falun, I have understood that the principles of Truthfulness, Benevolence and Tolerance are the characteristics of the universe. The book teaches us how to become a good person and why we should be a good person, a noble person and an even better person. It teaches us how to gradually reach the realm of "No selfishness and no selfness". Especially, the book requires us to take all material benefits lightly and gradually let go of them. And the book states repeatedly that practitioners should never get involved or interfere in politics.

Falun Dafa practitioners are always benevolent and kind to others, and consider others when doing things. The reason that Dafa practitioners go to Beijing one after another to appeal is because they believe in the country and its government; they want to report the real situation of Dafa practitioners to the leaders of the government so that they will not be fooled by several ulterior motivated persons and commit serious crimes. As we are cultivators of Falun Dafa, we should try our best to clarify the truth to the public and provide people with an opportunity to understand Falun Dafa righteously. As a matter of fact, this is to "assist Teacher in human world"

Last July, I applied to the county civil bureau and county disabilities alliance, stating that I would like to voluntarily give up the subsidies because all the diseases I had were eradicated after practicing Falun Dafa. However, this became the reason that I was detained 15 days in the county detention center. I had not violated any law. I became a 'criminal' simply because I wanted to do my part to lessen the burden of the government. I was sent to the detention center on July 14. On July 29, the guard told me they would release me if my family would pay some money. I told them there is no one at home other than my three kids, and I did not have any money. On July 30, they asked me to sign a debt bill before they released me. As far as I know, normally people never pay the money back after signing these bills. Nevertheless, because I am a practitioner, I paid the money back in 19 days.

We appeal to the government to reinvestigate the case, withdraw the arrest warrant for Master Li, provide a legal environment for Falun Dafa practitioners, and release all illegally arrested Falun Dafa practitioners.
