Dear Honorable Premier Zhu,
Greetings!
We are Falun Dafa practitioners at Qinghua University. We urge you to take a few minutes in your busy schedule to pay close attention to the unjust persecution your alumni have encountered.
We've conducted ourselves according to the principle of "Zhen, Shan, Ren" (Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance); we practiced Falun Gong exercises and disciplined our mind, and the practice has helped us become healthier. There have been many practitioners' stories about being good citizens and doing good deeds. This has not only saved a large amount of money in medical expenses, but has also played a positive impact on society's moral development. Thus, Falun Dafa has hundreds of benefits to our nation and its people, but not a single harm. In the past nine years, Falun Dafa has been widely spread and deeply rooted in society. People who know the truth about Falun Dafa all have an objective perspective of the behavior of practitioners.
However, it is this wonderful practice, which guides people towards kindness and compassion, that has been viciously slandered and attacked with rumors across the country. We've benefited from Falun Dafa. We would like to speak out on the truth of Falun Dafa during this major confrontation of evil and righteousness and we don't want our nation to experience another "Great Cultural Revolution." Therefore, based on our confidence in our country and government, we utilized our basic right as a citizen--appeal to our country by telling our personal experiences, and hope that our country would have a deeper understanding of Falun Gong and make a fair judgment. However, the treatments we have received again and again were illegal arrests and detainment, labor camps and jail sentences. Currently, at least one faculty member (Zhu Tong, female) has been sentenced to one and a half years in prison, one graduate student (Yu Jingmei, female) was sent to labor camp for one year, four alumni (Zhang Mengye, Zhao Min, Pan Yidong, He Huirong) were sent to labor camp for one to two years, and one female employee (He Duanlian) has been brutally beaten by the police. There were many more students and alumni who have been arrested and detained. Almost all students who are Dafa practitioners have been forced to suspend or discontinue their schooling.
Recently, we heard that these practitioners will possibly be forcefully taken to Masanjia Labor camp, and will go through the so-called "Transformation." In fact, this is completely mental and physical abuse and torture; it's horrifying to hear such news in a civilized country. It is even like this at the school campus, so there is no need to mention how miserable it is for the persecution of what Falun Gong practitioners at different levels of society have encountered. Premier Zhu, we felt proud and grateful from our hearts of being your alumni. Till today, your inauguration oath is still recurring in our mind-- "...No matter whether it is a field of mines or a deep and immeasurable abyss before me, I will go forward with no regret, act for our citizens selflessly." From then on, we have paid attention to every righteous speech you have delivered to the reporters. We understood the tremendous pressure you have endured when you were making a series of major strategic decisions such as managing the bank debts, enforcing the country's taxation reform, and reforming the economic system. You have accomplished the goal you have set for yourself: a truly honest official. Taking a step further will require even more of your significant sacrificing. However, we could not help ourselves from writing this letter to you because this is related to the lives of 100 million Chinese citizens as well as the glory and shame of our nation. History has positioned you at such an important and influential state, which is just like "As heaven will assign important duties to this person" (a phrase from an ancient Chinese poem). Please carefully think this over... No one would like to see our nation and people suffer misfortune, therefore, we urge you to help us stop this unfair crackdown, and rebuild the reputation of our country. This will be the greatest contribution you can contribute to the nation of China as well as a memorable virtue that will last for a long, long time.
