Falun Gong Practitioners Appeal to Hong Kong Government

While Jiang Zemin and his followers continue to brutally persecute Falun Gong in Mainland China, the basic human rights of Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong have also been violated. Over a hundred Hong Kong practitioners went to the headquarters of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, and handed an appeal letter to the Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa and the Chief Secretary of Administration, Ms. Anson Chan, urging the Hong Kong government to pay close attention to the persecution and unjust treatment that Hong Kong practitioners have suffered during the last year, and to protect their basic rights.

The practitioners ask the government to pay close attention to the whereabouts of Chu O-ming and to try to rescue him. Chu filed a legitimate lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and has disappeared since. They also reported that over 30 local practitioners have been either denied entrance to Mainland China or their entrance documents have been taken away because of their legitimate appeal activities, as well as the difficulties Falun Gong practitioners have encountered when renting facilities from commercial institutions.

Practitioners have come to realize that the persecution and injustice that Falun Gong has been bearing not only makes an impact on Falun Gong, but also erodes tens of thousands of kind-hearted people in society. In facing all kinds of evil, silence and inaction is a connivance of evil and injustice, allowing further erosion of basic human rights and freedom. Our stepping forward to clarify the truth and validate Dafa is the road that practitioners must take towards consummation during Fa-rectification. In addition, we call for justice and awareness from more people so that their lives will have a good future.

This practice and appeal activity was especially peaceful and harmonious. Some practitioners felt as if time has been frozen and are grateful for everything our great compassionate Teacher has given us. Practitioners only displayed the boards and banners showing the persecution and torture to remind people that it was the evil force of Jiang Zemin and his underlings who have been suppressing millions of good people that cultivate Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Practitioners remembered what the Teacher has said recently: "...if the evil hadn't persecuted us, we wouldn't need to explain the truth to people whatsoever. We also don't think that our making appeals or presenting the truth right now is interfering with anyone. When being treated unfairly, people should be allowed to speak--this is a human being's most basic right. "

Many of the passersby and a few policemen nearby expressed their sympathy and support. Some expressed their friendly wish to learn more about it, and others gave us thumbs up. A passing-by German said in English, "Falun Gong, very good!"

Recently, more and more Hong Kong practitioners have stepped forward and have constantly come up with new ways to spread the Fa. Everybody has been searching inside, to rid all sorts of human notions, to follow the process of Fa-rectification, and to make a diligent advance together in "assisting the Teacher's journey in the human world."
