We decided to clarify the truth of Falun Gong at a meeting attended mostly by Chinese students at the University of Minnesota. We set up large sized display boards full of pictures of the truth of Falun Gong, and distributed some flyers and newspapers to most attendees.
After carefully reading the display boards, a student came to talk to us. She said that she does not practice Falun Gong, however, many people such as her teachers, classmates, and neighbors do; her mother is also a Falun Gong practitioner. She respects them and says they are good people. She said that her mother's health was poor before, but has significantly improved after she practiced Falun Gong, and her spirit has been uplifted as well. Her mother often apologizes for her wrongdoings that do not conform to Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance. She admires her mother's courage of finding and correcting her own shortcomings, which she thinks is hard for an ordinary person to do.
She does not think that Falun Gong practitioners are some uneducated senior citizens as claimed by the Chinese government. Instead, many of them are highly educated people with wisdom. Some of them are professors, graduate students, college students, and some have graduated from famous universities. By knowing this, she realized that they are good people. She also mentioned that it is hard to find anyone who has high morality in today's society. She believes, however, that Falun Gong practitioners in fact have very high morality. She also believes that everyone should have the rights and freedom to believe and even sacrifice for their faith. She admires and respects their choices. Unfortunately, due to the brutal persecution in China, her mother can only secretly study and practice Falun Gong at home. She wishes to help her mother, however, she is afraid that it would only bring her danger and trouble.
Another student said that he does not believe in the Chinese government's propaganda. One of his relatives practiced Falun Gong. He stopped the practice due to the persecution in China, and then the illnesses he had before returned. Falun Gong is really miraculous.
