After the Asia-Africa School of London University in England successfully hosted special discussions on Falun Gong, another famous institution, Liz University, hosted a Falun Gong special topic discussion on October 18. The meeting was hosted by the East Asia Research Society of Liz University. Most meeting attendants are well-known Chinese specialists in England. They can speak fluent Chinese; some can even write in Chinese, or have worked or studied in Beijing or other places in China.
The president of the East Asia Research Society of Liz University contacted local Dafa practitioners for a Falun Gong introduction this June. Then they agreed to show "Falun Gong Real Story," and invited a practitioner from the English Falun Buddha Society to give a speech.
England has a system for the elite. After the high rank officials leave their posts, they often teach or perform special research at famous universities. Hence, the specialists and scholars in English institutions have close relationships with the government. They have deep influence on many of the governments policies and are known as the brain of the government.
The Liz East Asia Research Society (EARS) is an academic authority in East Asia study in England. For more than ten years, they have organized the scholars who had taken leadership roles in governments, Asia specialists, and students who studied East Asia to push forward the research discussion on East Asia in England and Europe. The Falun Gong practitioner was the first speaker this semester. The EARS president indicated that they had attached great importance to the discussion. They had made two hundred posters to be posted on campus.
They showed "Falun Gong Real Story" I and II at the meeting. Then they had a question and answer session, which lasted 25 minutes. The scholars in the EARS asked many questions. After the speech by the Falun Gong practitioner, some people came to ask where the study and exercise groups meet in the Liz area.
Most of the materials that Falun Gong practitioners brought were picked up. They especially took the Chinese newspaper, because many of these specialists in China issues can read and write Chinese. The practitioners are glad that these materials can benefits more people.
Three meeting attendants came to the practice sites in the Liz area to learn Falun Gong the next day.
