After Jiang Zemin's violent persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in Tiananmen Square on October 1, 2000, many US practitioners took to the streets to distribute media reports and tell the public the truth about the incident. We were told that many college students are actively talking about events associated with Falun Gong. They are very concerned about the gross violation of human rights. People want to hear the latest news regarding Falun Gong. Based on the feedback from the American public, who read our handouts, we have decided to organize a "Campus Falun Gong Human Rights Week" in the near future.
On the campuses, we will tell students what happened in Tiananmen Square on October 1, 2000, which was directed by Jiang Zemin and is the bloodiest violence since June 4, 1989. We will also talk to professors of history, humanities, political science, international relations, international politics, philosophy, law, East Asian studies, Chinese culture and many other areas, informing them about various Falun Gong incidents and the illegal brutal persecutions directed by Jiang Zemin. Falun Gong practitioners in China are facing a serious survival crisis. Their lives are endangered.
We will exhibit the latest reports and photographs taken in Tiananmen Square, telling the world how Jiang Zemin's police force publicly beat and arrested peaceful practitioners. We will also present photographs and materials as evidence of the inhumane persecution over the past year. We plan to display these materials on campus and organize seminars to introduce Falun Gong. We will publicize our practice time and location and invite all kind-hearted people to join us.
We hope by organizing such activities, we can help students, professors and scholars learn about the truth. We want to gather attention from the American and international community, asking for their support to appeal to the Chinese government and bring a peaceful solution to the current situation.
