[Beijing] Urgent conference within the police system planned more arrests
An urgent conference was held within the police system on the evening of October 1st. Due to the massive appearance of flyers clarifying the truth of Dafa throughout the nation, and the peaceful appealing by Dafa practitioners in Tiananmen Square earlier that day, a new arrest campaign was planned.
We now would like to remind practitioners in Mainland China to be prudent and avoid being caught by the evil. We need to use wisdom to spread Dafa and expose the true facts about Dafa to the world.
Right now, some practitioners have been identified as "significant people" by their street administrators or work units. They have been kept under surveillance and further actions against them may follow. Please be careful to prevent meaningless loss.
[Beijing] Be alert against spies in plainclothes
On October 2nd, many practitioners were caught and taken away by spies in plainclothes even though they hadn't done anything. After noticing anyone who appeared like practitioners, the spies would go up and start a conversation, pretending to be a practitioner by saying things like "too few practitioners in Beijing have come out" and so on. Once the person hinted that he/she was a practitioner, that person would be caught and taken away immediately. Some spies, to catch many practitioners in one sweep, spread rumors like asking Dafa practitioners to gather on the east side of the Monument in Tiananmen Square at 7 pm on October 3rd. The Tiananmen Police Substation is close to the east side of the Monument, thus it is very convenient for the police to arrest people with police cars standing nearby. We want to remind practitioners to be cautious about this.
[Hefei] Articles criticizing Jiang Zemin appeared on major streets in Hefei City
On the morning of October 3rd, flyers declaring "To Jiang Zemin: Stop this Reckless Behavior that is Disgracing China" appeared on major streets in Hefei, Anhui Province. These flyers were for clarifying the facts of Falun Gong to the public. People now are beginning to talk about it. They are beginning to recognize the vicious motive of Jiang Zemin and his followers as well as the truth of Falun Dafa. After a series of articles were published on Minghui Net [http://clearwisdom.net in English] about the Fa rectification, many practitioners started to recognize their weaknesses in cultivation and decided to cultivate more steadfastly during the Fa rectification era.
[Shijiazhuang] Bombings in Shijiazhuang were utilized to defame Falun Gong
In such an era in Chinese history, where wickedness is credited and benevolence is suppressed, corruption keeps growing and morality keeps declining. The society becomes worse and unstable, with many accidents and disasters occurring all the time. In the past year, under secret orders from Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan, the police were impelled to put its main efforts into suppressing kind-hearted Falun Gong practitioners. Yet, they have not even tried to work things out to resolve the deteriorating situation.
Right before the National Day (October 1st), there were at least 5 bombings in public areas, together with several unsuccessful bombing attempts. These bombings, which killed several people, have aroused great concern in the society.
The police have not been able to find any effective solutions to prevent these bombings. Some people, with vicious motives, publicly spread the following statement to officers of different levels, "The majority of Falun Gong followers are good. However, after being banned from doing the exercises, some radical practitioners could be responsible for these (the bombing cases) due to their hatred." To make it even malicious, teachers from some elementary and high schools were instructed to tell their students that the bombing cases were carried out by Falun Gong practitioners. The students were encouraged to write down the emergency phone number to contact police so that they can keep an eye on the practitioners and report about them.
In the past year, Dafa practitioners showed great benevolence by not fighting back when they were beaten or cursed. They have been selflessly reporting the true facts about Falun Gong and peacefully appealing to the government. Its positive impact on the society, as well as the nation, has been recognized by the public. That is why a parent, after learning about these bombing rumors, told his child, "Don't listen to them. Look at those Falun Gong practitioners. All of them are decent and more virtuous than those government officers and police. These (bombing cases) can't be tracked down and are used to damage Falun Gong. It is really absurd and immoral!"
Some police officers have interacted closely with practitioners and also do not agree with these rumors. They believe that Falun Gong practitioners are essentially good people who wouldn't do any harm to the society.
[Mainland China] It was said that a notice was passed down to a work unit in China during the National Day, saying Falun Gong practitioners would go to Tiananmen Square with bombs. As everyone well knows, Falun Gong practitioners conduct themselves according to the principle of "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance". Practitioners never fight back when they are beaten or curse back when they are sworn at. During the past year, what Falun Gong practitioners have been presenting to the world in safeguarding Dafa is especially this virtue. However Jiang Zemin and his accomplices have dared to make up such sordid rumors that go against the will of the people and heaven. This is the manifestation of their ferocity when at their wit's end.
[Shenyang] Three education centers being turned into transformation bases
In order to transform Dafa practitioners, three education stations in Shenyang City, Liaoning province, appropriated 10 million RMB to construct transformation bases. One half of this money came from the central government and the other half came from the provincial government.
[Hefei] Falun Dafa practitioner Zhen Yalan from Hefei City, Anhui province, was put in mental hospital
Practitioner Zhen Yalan -has been to Beijing three times (she walked for 28 days in her second trip to Beijing) since last July 22. She was then sentenced to labor camp. Due to her continuous practice of Falun Dafa in prison, she was put in a mental hospital by and underwent extremely inhumane torture. It remains unknown whether she is alive or dead.
[Beijing] Practitioner Ma Jinglan (as such pronounced, female) was missing
Dafa Practitioner Ma Jinglan from Beijing, female, 48 years old, didn't come back from her appeal at Tiananmen Square on Oct. 1. She was probably arrested there. Her home address is: Room 1206, Building #9, Liujiayaodongli.
[Hubei province] News from Hubei Province
It's known that since September, all the Dafa practitioners that were illegally sentenced to labor-camps in Hubei Province were secretly sent to Qilihu labor camp in Shayang of Zhongxiang City. Male practitioners are detained in the Eighth Team, and female practitioners are in the Second Team.
The deputy director of one detention center told the relatives of one practitioner who is being sent there, "Be quick to utilize any connections you have to get him out of there, otherwise the result will be beyond imagination!" It is unknown what kind of serious result he was referring to, but it sounds for sure like they are scheming up something. Why do they round the practitioners up in such a remote labor camp? The evil force has used every means to intensify their suppression of the determined Dafa practitioners. It could be nothing more than secretly executing some of the practitioners. We hope all the practitioners keep a close eye on the situation of local practitioners being detained and in labor-camps. The tribulations encountered by Dafa practitioners at the Qilihu labor camp are very harsh. However, the majority of them are very steadfast.
[Shiyan] Since last year, over a dozen practitioners in Shiyan City, Hubei Province have been sent to labor camps. All of them are currently held at the Qilihu labor camp. Some of them are known to be:
Zen Yongbo --- Male, 27 years old, an employee of the Automobile Research Institute, Dongfeng Automobile Company, Shiyan City, assistant engineer;
Li Cui --- Female, 26 years old, an employee of Shanyan Hospital, Shiyan City, pharmacist;
Lei Xiaoyun --- Female, 27 years old, an employee at the Kindergarten of the 61st Factory, Dongfeng Automobile Company, Shiyan City, a daycare teacher;
Li Yongkai --- Male, 46 years old, an employee of Automobile Research Institute, Dongfeng Automobile Company;
Wang Jianzhong --- Male, an employee of the 3rd Provincial Construction Company;
Xing Xu --- Male, 30 years old, a Cadre of the 3rd Provincial Construction Company;
Wang Xiachan --- Female, 37 years old, an employee of the 45th Factory of Dongfeng Automobile Company, Shiyan City;
Zhu Feng --- Male, from Liubo Town, Yun County;
Wang Chunli --- Female, 28 years old;
Wang Hongbing --- Male;
The International Tourist Festival of Wudan Mountain and the Amateur Performers' Festival of the Beijing Opera were held in Shiyan City starting on September 25, 2000. Many practitioners stepped forward to distribute materials containing the truth and introduction about Dafa in the busy areas of the city. Although it was raining all the time, the effects were quite good due to the large number of participants in the two festivals. People even took these materials back home and to their work places. The materials about the truth of Dafa have not yet reached everyone, but the perception of the public is changing gradually. More and more people are coming to realize the truth of Dafa. Several practitioners that distributed Dafa materials were arrested during this period.
