(Minghui.org) In the afternoon of October 9 th, Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners held a news conference to discuss"Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested for Filing Lawsuit Against Jiang Zemin." More than twenty reporters, from 18 different major international media outlets, including Reuters, BBC, France News Agency, and TVB, attended the news conference. The news conference focused on what happened to a Hong Kong practitioner and a Beijing practitioner when they filed a lawsuit against President Jiang Zemin, the Communist Party Organization Department Chief, Zeng Qinghong, and the Secretary General of the Political Council, Luo Gan for their brutal persecution of Falun Gong. The two practitioners followed the Chinese laws explicitly when they filed their lawsuit at the Chinese High Court. The law did not protect them, but instead the police jumped over the wall surrounding their residence and arrested them. They are still being detained to this day.
The two arrested practitioners, Hong Kong businessman, Zhu Keming and Beijing resident, Wang Jie, have paid repeated visits to many governmental agencies since last July to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. They always patiently and sincerely described how they have become better people after they began practicing Falun Gong. On August 29 th of this year, the two practitioners mailed a legal brief of their lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and his two followers for their brutal persecution against Falun Gong to the Chinese High Court. Their action is considered legal and protected by the Chinese constitution and other Chinese laws. The two practitioners also mailed copies of the legal brief to many governmental agencies, the Peoples Congress, the People's Political Consultative Conference, various levels of courts, military institutions, newspapers and other media outlets. On September 7th around 11pm, more than ten policemen jumped over the wall around their residence and took them away by force. Nobody has heard from them ever since. Their friends and family members went everywhere looking for them and recently found out that they are being secretly held at the Beijing Fangshang Police Station.
The legal brief that they filed was a true reflection of the open and courageous way that they conduct themselves as Falun Gong practitioners. First, they were truthful. Despite the brutal suppression and complete disregard of human rights by Jiang Zemin and his cronies, they were not afraid and refused to hide. They had the courage to openly tell the truth about Falun Gong and expose the evil crimes to the people of the world. Second, they were benevolent. Setting aside regard for personal safety, they wanted to give more people the opportunity to wake up and distinguish right from wrong. With hearts of kindness, they wanted the truth of the universe to be known to all. Finally, they were forbearing. They followed all the legal procedures in filing the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin and his cronies for violating numerous sections of the Chinese Constitution as well as Chinese civil and criminal laws. They had no selfish motives and have done nothing illegal. They knew that it was almost a certainty that they would be severely punished, yet they still chose to step forward and were prepared to accept an unimaginable amount of pain and suffering. Everything that they have done sharply contrasts against the dark and evil natures of Jiang Zemin and his accomplices.
After hearing the detailed accounts of what happened, the reporters who attended the conference seemed to be moved by the courage and determination of the two practitioners. It was easy to see from their facial expressions that their conscience and sense of justice were touched. From the questions they asked, it was obvious that they were concerned about the safety of the Falun Gong practitioners. Now people all over the world know that Jiang Zemin and his accomplices are completely disregarding the laws and persecuting ordinary citizens. Instead of conducting an investigation on the defendants, some "civil servants" chose to jump over the wall of a private residence to arrest the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs are the ones facing vicious interrogation and torture.
The news conference was conducted in a peaceful, calm and solemn manner. During its prime time evening news program, the Hong Kong TV Station TVB provided detailed coverage of how the two practitioners were illegally detained for filing the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. Because Zhu Keming is a permanent resident of Hong Kong, local practitioners there have also asked the Hong Kong local government to look into the matter and help to secure his release. On October 10 th, many international media outlets provided fairly detailed coverage on the two practitioners case.
