On Oct. 5th, approximately 100 Australian practitioners went to Parliament and the Chinese Embassy, located in the Australian capital, Canberra, to protect and promote Falun Dafa, stimulated by the appeals made in front of Chinese Consulate in Sydney on Oct. 1st.
Reports and information kept coming to reveal that people had been arrested and beaten in Tiananmen Square. At that time, the House of Representatives and Senate of Australia had been holding a plenary session for two weeks. When the practitioners got this information, they decided to give a press conference in Parliament immediately, to explain the true facts about Falun Gong and the ongoing persecution in China, to mainstream Australian society.
Four important media channels in Australia: TV channel 9, ABC, Canberra Times and Reuters interviewed practitioners on site. The spokesperson for practitioners in Australia read the letter of appeal. All practitioners expressed appreciation for the Australian government's support in the past year, and asked for their continued support in the future, to help stop the irrationally brutal persecution launched by Jiang Zeming and his followers.
After the activity in front of Parliament, we held a walk to the Chinese Embassy. Along the road, we distributed Dafa literature to the pedestrians and drivers passing in cars. In front of the Chinese Embassy, we read an open letter addressed to Jiang Zeming, to the media, strongly condemning the evil actions of Jiang Zeming. We also tried twice to deliver a letter to the Chinese Embassy; embassy staff refused both attempts.
Every time we participate in the protection and promotion of Dafa, we feel there are so many kindhearted people waiting for us to reveal the true facts to them. In the face of evil's savageness, we must step out fearlessly, calling for justice so that we can achieve a promising future.
