Beijing Falun Gong practitioner Liu Yongwang is originally from Baoding City, Quyang County in Hebei Province. His life is in imminent danger at Tangshan City's Jidong Prison. Mr. Liu Yongwang has been on a hunger strike since May 24, 2006, to protest the persecution. He's endured daily forced feedings conducted by personnel in Ward B. Recently, he has suffered shock several times due to injuries he sustained while being force-fed. Liu Yongwang vomited after being force-fed, losing most of the contents of his stomach. He is getting thinner every day and appears to be extremely weak. His legs are numb due to torture he suffered previously, and he can't walk or stand. He might become totally paralyzed, lose consciousness, or suffer fatal shock at any time.
Mr. Liu Yongwang is 35 years old. He was illegally
arrested
on September 13, 2001 in Shanghai because he practices Falun Gong. He
was detained at a detention center in Shanghai and later at the Baoding
Detention Center in Hebei Province for 88 days. On December 10, 2001,
Mr. Liu was sent to the Baoding Labor Re-Education Camp. His left leg
was disabled as a result of the severe torture he was subjected to at
the labor camp. Later, Liu Yongwang was transferred to the Tangshan
Labor Re-Education Camp. He was diagnosed with nerve damage in both
legs in May 2004, and released for medical treatment in June 2004. On
August 24, 2005, officers from the Beijing National Security Bureau
arrested Liu Yongwang again at work and initially detained him at their
detention center, but later transferred him to the Baoding Detention
Center. From November 7 to November 13, members of the so-called
"Special Examination Group" questioned Mr. Liu. Both of his legs were
tied to a chair, and an electric baton and a torch were used to extort
a "confession" from him. He wasn't allowed to close his eyes for
seven days. On May 11, 2006 Mr. Liu was illegally sentenced to prison
on false charges. He was sent to Tangshan Jidong Prison on June 16,
2006.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shi Dengling is from the Ergezai District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. For the past five years while imprisoned in Duyun Jail, Ms. Shi was brutally tortured for refusing to renounce her beliefs. She was recently released in September 2006. However, on December 25, 2006, she was illegally arrested again by the officials from the 610 Office, the local community committee and the police station. She was taken to the Lannigou Brainwashing Center in Guiyang City for further persecution. Ms. Shi's young daughter and mother, who is still recovering from a serious illness, are grieving for her suffering again.
Ms. Shi was illegally sentenced to five years of imprisonment by the Guiyang City authorities and was held at the Guizhou Province Jail (the Jianjiang Cement Factory in Duyun Area). From May to August of 2003, Ms. Shi was confined for 70 days. During that time, she was tortured with the Death Bed for a long period of time. On May 24, 2004, the head of the ward, Yu Xinzhong, and guard Zhao ordered Wang Jiayu to monitor Ms. Shi. Towards the end of May until the beginning of July, they tried to forcibly brainwash her every day from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Later, they used the jail's library room as the new brainwashing location. After they sealed the windows and door with paper, they brutally beat her day and night, forced her stand facing the wall for long periods of time and constantly played video programs that slandered Falun Gong. They only allowed her to sleep for two hours, from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., sometimes even less. Even during the two hours of sleep, they still hung her feet from the upper rail of a bunk bed. On July 15, 2004, Ms. Shi was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment because of the tortures she suffered and had to be hospitalized for a month.
Ms. Shi Dengling was recently released in September 2006. After coming home, she took care of her young daughter and mother, who became very ill after suffering intense mental pressure from Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities' intimidation. Ms. Shi was also fired by her company because she practices Falun Gong. In order to support her family, Ms. Shi had to go to many places to look for a job. Ms. Shi and her family have suffered mentally, physically and economically for all these years. After she returned home, the 610 Office from the Guiyang City Political and Judiciary Committee instigated the subdistrict office and the local community committee to closely monitor and harass her and her family.
On December 21, 2006, the Sanjiaoxian Huilonglu Community Committee officials went to Ms. Shi's home and told her that they needed to talk to her at the local community committee center. On December 25, Ms. Shi went to the local community committee. The person in charge of the committee and the duty officer told her, "Your former case hasn't closed so the 610 Office from Guiyang City requests you to write a Guarantee Statement. In order to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to them, Ms. Shi tried to share her experiences of the positive benefits she received from practicing Falun Gong. However, the personnel at the community committee and the duty officer immediately called the 610 Office, the Ergezai Police Station and the plainclothes police from the Huaguoyuan Police Station in Guiyang City to take Ms. Shi away. They forcibly dragged her to an automobile as she shouted out, "Falun Dafa is good." Then they sent her directly to the Guizhou Province "Legal Education Training Center" (Guizhou Province Lannigou Brainwashing Center) for further persecution.
Presently, Ms. Shi's family members have gone to the Sanjiaoxian Huilonglu Community Committee many times and requested them to release her. However, the official from the community committee said, "She has been taken to the Lannigou Brainwashing Center. Only when she is "reformed" and writes a Guarantee Statement, can she be released."
The CCP uses deceptive means to publicly arrest good people who cultivate "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." In June 2006, led by the 610 Office head from the Qiannan County Politics and Judiciary Committee, Gou Dewei, the police deceived practitioners Ms. Liang Zhengfeng, Zhou Yun and others to leave their homes and then arrested them. They took the practitioners to the Guizhou Province Lanniguo Brainwashing Center where they used inhuman methods to try to force practitioners to give up Falun Gong. So far, six months have passed since their family members have requested the authorities on numerous occasions to release their loved ones. However, the personnel from the 610 Office and the Lanniguo Brainwashing Center threatened, "If they don't give up practicing Falun Gong and write Guarantee Statements, they will not be released." Ms. Liang Zhengfeng and Ms. Zhou Yun were sentenced to "re-education through forced labor" in 2000. During that time, Ms. Zhou Yun was held at the brainwashing center.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zang Hongyan and another practitioner from Changchun City, Jilin Province, have been detained at Shuangshang Third Detention Center since December 16, 2006.
Ms. Zang's family, with a certificate issued by the Administration of Justice stating that Ms. Zang was schizophrenic, went to the Changjiu Street Police Station and asked for her release. The case officers, Tian Xichun (male) and Zhang Xiangmin (male), refused to let her go. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor on January 5, 2007, and sent to Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Zang has been imprisoned in a forced labor camp three different times, and since her disease was the result of mistreatment during her imprisonment, the camp refused to accept her, which resulted in serious disagreements between the police and the labor camp.
The case officers had to bring Ms. Zang back to the police station. They informed her family that the certificate had expired, and Ms. Zang needed to be re-certified. The family had 1,000 yuan extorted from them. The police omitted the fact that they had tried to send her to the labor camp and was refused. They made arrangements with a hospital in Gongzhuling City to certify Ms. Zang's mental state that evening.
The police station inspector, Zheng Lian'guo (male), along with the political instructor Liu Yishun and the case officers intended to deceive Ms. Zang's family. They worked secretly with the related offices to get a certificate that claimed Ms. Zang was in a normal mental state so that they could try again to send her to the forced labor camp.
The forced labor camp again refused to accept Ms. Zang. The officers then locked her in the police station. In addition, the Census Inspector Li Mingzhao from Changjiu Street Police Station often harassed Ms. Zang's family and pried around to collect information about other Falun Gong practitioners.
