During the morning of November 8, 2005, more than twenty personnel from the 610 Office in Weifang City barged into the residence of Tan Pingyun. They ransacked her house and confiscated her belongings. Tan Pingyun was arrested and taken to the "610 Office" brainwashing center.

On December 6, 2005, without informing her family members, the authorities sent Tan Pingyun to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

In the afternoon on May 18, 2006, her family members received a phone call from Wangcun Labor Camp, informing them that Tan Pingyun was in critical condition and asked them to rush over. When her family members got to the camp, they could not detect Tan's blood pressure. Her heartbeat was extremely weak. At 7 p.m. that night, her heart stopped beating. The vicious police told her family members, "Tan Pingyun drank detergent when she was cleaning the toilet earlier that morning. The two persons who were cleaning the toilet with her reported this to the team leader and sent her to the Wangcun hospital thereafter. She was later transferred to the 148 hospital in Zhouchun City at 9 a.m."

The next morning, Wangcun Labor Camp agents and those from the police department wanted to talk to the family members and urged them to immediately cremate Tan Pingyun's body. The family members did not agree and suspected foul play with regard to the cause of death. They said, "At home, she was a healthy and cheerful person. One month ago we saw that she was still in good spirits. Now she has suddenly died. We find that hard to accept." The family wanted to take her body back to the hospital to investigate the cause of death. Her other family members and friends also wanted to see her for the last time. The forced labor camp officials were adamant about not letting them take the deceased body away and demanded that the body be immediately cremated. They also said that if the family members wanted to investigate the cause of death, they had to go to a hospital selected by the forced labor camp.

Under such threats and intimidation, the family members gave in to the pressure to allow an immediate cremation. On the morning of May 20, the labor camp officials gave the family members three thousand yuan as compensation. That is how the officials tried to cover up Tan Pingyun’s death as quickly as possible. During the cremation, personnel from the police department, the "610 Office," the forced labor camp and the Fenghuang Paper Factory, Ms. Tan’s former employer, were present. They appeared very anxious to see the process come to completion.

Tan Pingyun was illegally arrested and taken to the brainwashing center, and then sent for forced labor. She suddenly died in the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. The officials there should give a clear explanation for the cause of death and evidence to back up the claim. After an investigation, all those found guilty of contributing the Ms. Tan’s untimely death must be held responsible.

On the evening of September 30, 2003, I was doing the sitting meditation. Suddenly a group of policemen rushed in from downstairs and frantically knocked on the door, threatening to destroy it. My husband asked, "Why are you making an arrest?" The police simply did not pay attention to him. They arrested me and another fellow practitioner and took us to a police car. After we arrived at the Sili Detention Center, I discovered that a dozen fellow practitioners were there already.

On the third morning of my detainment, the police opened the cell door. They brutally handcuffed us and pushed us on a tour bus. "Where are we going?" A policeman replied, "To another place." We shouted loudly along the road, "Falun Dafa is Good!" "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is Good!" The police maliciously slapped practitioners' faces and mouths. We suffered for several hours on the bus and arrived at a hospital. Police shouted at us to get off the bus. After getting off, a nurse gave us injections. We asked, "What’s this?" "Vaccine," was her reply. (Actually it was a drug that impairs the nervous system). Two practitioners lost consciousness right away.

We were transferred to Shayang Women's Forced Labor Camp. The female police guard of the 2nd Group instigated the criminals to humiliate us. They used scissors to cut our hair and forced us to stand for a long time without sleeping. On the third morning at Shayang, the criminals led me to a room and tied both of my hands behind me to a stool and inserted a metal soup spoon in my mouth. They used another metal spoon to turn in my mouth for more than an hour. They didn’t stop even when my teeth started to break off. They kept torturing me like this until I fell unconscious from the pain.

In the afternoon I was transferred to Qilihu Hospital for force-feeding. I almost suffocated to death. On the fifth day, the police instigated the criminals to force-feed me with a dirty plastic bottle. Again I was almost suffocated. On the sixth day, my entire calf turned numb and I had difficulty walking. In the evening, they tried to compel me to write a "renunciation letter." I refused. They pushed my hands backward, lifted them upward and pushed down. It hurt so badly that I could not help calling out for help. One of the collaborators witnessed how a practitioner was forced to "reform" and became a little bit awakened. She said, "Trying to 'reform' someone is too black hearted; I quit." From then on, she didn’t do evil things any more. Later she read Teacher's new articles and she wrote a Solemn Declaration to announce that she was returning to Falun Gong. The whole group was shocked.

After failing to "reform" me the hard way, they tried the soft way. They told me that they wanted to talk with me. I thought that I should take this chance to ask the two collaborators to write a Solemn Declaration. To my surprise, one of them grabbed the pen quickly and wrote a "renunciation letter" for me to sign. She said she had written it on my behalf. I was very angry and asked them to give me the letter. They refused. I told them, "I don’t agree with what you wrote. It is no use for you to do that."

In the evening, several "reformers" and collaborators intimidated me and grabbed my hands to write a "renunciation letter." I used the pen tip to cut the paper and firmly refused to write a single word. In the following days, several collaborators surrounded me and threatened me. They said, "If you don’t 'reform', you will be arrested, sent to jail, and sentenced for seven years."

Later they played the "Tiananmen Self-Immolation" video for me. I told them that it was all lies and refused to watch. They forced me to watch and then told me to write a report afterwards. I refused. The collaborators wrote a report in my name. I told the police that it was not mine. The police then instigated the criminals to threaten me. They said, "This has happened three times. That’s it. You know where you are. It is not a place where you get what you want. We have ways to take care of you."

The evils used brutal means to persecute Falun Gong and practitioners and me. Under their pressure and confusion I finally yield to them.

When I was released from jail, fellow practitioners helped me and made me gradually wake up. I was so regretful after I realized what I had done. I will make up for it and diligently cultivate Falun Gong.

Mr. Wang Shengbiao is from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. He was sentenced to 11 and a half years in jail. Because he refuses to give up his belief in Falun Gong, and refuse to be "reformed," from October 2004 to the present time, he has been confined by the "strict discipline team" in the 4^th Prison in Hebei (also called Shijiazhuang's Beijiao Prison). Currently his physical condition is poor. He has high blood pressure, his vision has weakened, and his legs are numb.

Mr. Wang is over 40 years old. Previously, he taught at the Chemical School in Shijiazhuang. He is kind-hearted, and never complains about anything. He was highly regarded by his colleagues and leaders.

Since the Chinese Communist Party started its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Mr. Wang has not been able to live a normal life. He was once detained by his work unit because he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. During this time, Changan District Police Department and Yuejin local police station searched his residence and confiscated his computer, Falun Gong books and tapes, and some other items.

Due to Mr. Wang’s outstanding performance at work and because they knew that he was a good man, his supervisors decided to let him return to his position. After that, the local police often had undercover officers follow and monitor him, especially on the so-called sensitive days like May 1 (Communist International Labor Day) or October 1 (China's National Day). At the entrance to his neighborhood and the street outside his work unit, the police and agents followed him. During this time, although they did not directly attack him, they created an intimidating atmosphere at his work unit and neighborhood.

When the persecution escalated in October 2001, Mr. Wang’s name was once again put on the blacklist of the 610 Office. As a result, he was compelled to leave his home and go from place to place.

In an attempt to find Mr. Wang, the 610 Office police put pressure on his relatives and friends. For a long time, they monitored his neighborhood. The director of the Political and Judiciary Committee of the Changan District gave permission to Changan Police Station and Yuejin Road Branch to arrest Mr. Wang’s wife, Liang Linhong, at work and detain her in the Hebei Provincial brainwashing center for a month. As a result, Mr. Wang’s young daughter was left at home alone. During this time when there was no adult around, the police sneaked into Mr. Wang’s residence and searched the apartment again. They confiscated his daughter’s reading machine, tape recorder and a personal address book.

In August 2003, Mr. Wang was illegally arrested. His family members went to the local police station and Changan District Police Department, but nobody would tell them anything about him. At last, his wife Ms. Liang Linhong found the deputy director of Changan District Police Department, Liu Zijun, and asked him what Mr. Wang had done that was against the law. She asked why he had been arrested and where he was being detained. She also asked if Mr. Wang was under criminal detention or civil detention and how long he would be imprisoned. Liu had to admit that they had arrested Mr. Wang, but he also said that he could not give her any more information about her husband.

During the 2004 Lunar New Year, Mr. Wang’s family eventually found out that he had been detained in Team 202 in Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. Team 202 was specifically set up to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Guards Bian Shuqiang, Zhang Li, and Dong Xinguo have been repeatedly exposed on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. Mr. Wang suffered tremendously in the labor camp. The prison guards locked him up in a small cell and told the inmates to take turns watching him to make sure that he did not fall asleep. He was not allowed to close his eyes. Bian also told the inmates "Do not look at Falun Gong practitioners as human beings." For about five to six days in a row, he was allowed to fall asleep for a little while; afterwards, he was deprived of sleep again. Policeman Dong said, "Let him experience the taste of a bed; after that it will be even more painful." During this whole time, Mr. Wang endured everything. The police then told the inmates to force him to do prolonged cross-squat, causing numbness in his legs, difficulty in walking, and unconsciousness. Consequently, he suffered from high blood pressure and swollen glands.

In June 2004, Wang was illegally arrested and later transferred to Xingtai City Detention Center in Hebei Province. Because he upheld the truth and refused to be "transformed," in August 2004, he was sentenced to 11 and a half years of illegal imprisonment in Xingtai City. In October 2004, he was transferred to Shijiazhuang's Beijiao Prison. His family requested permission to visit him, but the request was denied. After repeated requests, in April 2005 they were finally allowed to visit.

When the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Standing Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) were in session, a large group of police officers from Shijiazhuang went to Mr. Wang’s residence at around 5 a.m. They insisted on searching all the rooms and harassed and threatened Ms. Liang and their daughter. After meeting with firm resistance from his family, the police left.

Mr. Wang’s current physical condition is very poor. He is suffering from high blood pressure, his eyesight is rapidly deteriorating, and the lower parts of his legs are numb. Since he has refused to be "transformed," from October 2004 till the present time, he has been severely persecuted by the strict discipline team. The environment in this team is even worse than the already harsh situation in the prison. The former Deputy County Head of Zhengding County, Falun Gong practitioner Shang Kunfeng, was also persecuted by this team.

Ms. Zhang Xiaoli Missing after Being Sent to Longshan Forced Labor Camp

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiaoli, 27, lives in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She was formerly a student of the Physical Education Department in Liaoning Province Normal University, Dalian City. The Clearwisdom website reported that she had been sent to Dalian Forced Labor Camp and Longshan Forced Labor Camp, but there has been no further information of her whereabouts since being sent to the Longshan Camp.

Mr. Fan Shengli Missing for Several Years

Practitioner Mr. Fan Shengli, in his 50s, lives in Dai Village, Shahe City, Hebei Province. He has been missing since 2002-2003. No one knows where he is, and his wife has been looking all over for him.

Ms. Mei Hanying Missing for Almost Six Years

Practitioner Ms. Mei Hanying was born in November 1963 and lived in Wuhan Heavy Machinery Factory Family Housing. She was a retired employee of the Wuhan City Clock Factory in Hubei Province. On October 6, 2000, she went out to distribute Falun Gong truth clarifying materials and has been missing ever since.

Ms. Mei went to Beijing to appeal in the beginning of 2000, and she refused to report her name or address. Policemen cut her clothes with scissors, and escorted her back to Wuhan City. She was detained in Wuhan City Prison more than a month. For simply saying one sentence, she was hung up by her handcuffs for one whole day.

Ms. Mei's family has been very worried since learning that the CCP removes organs from Falun Gong practitioners' bodies in secret concentration camps. They are urgently calling on the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) to help find Ms. Mei Hanying.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Jianshe (former name: Zhao Yougang) was tortured at Wuxi City Prison in Jiangsu Province for several years, and is now on the brink of death. His family recently went to Wuxi City to request his release.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Belated News - Practitioner Liu Hongbo Was Sentenced to Nine Years of Imprisonment in 2001

Practitioner Mr. Liu Hongbo from Dalian City was arrested in 2001 and sentenced to nine years of imprisonment. He might be held at the Liaoyang Prison.

3. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Liu Yu Sentenced to Four Years of Imprisonment

On April 20, 2006, practitioner Ms. Liu Yu from Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province was sentenced to four years of imprisonment at the Longgang District People’s Court in Shenzhen City. (Judgment Certificate: No. 797.) Currently, Liu Yu is being detained in the district’s Huanggekeng Detention Center.

4. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Wang Changyun Arrested and Her House Ransacked

At around 11:00 a.m. on May 26, 2006, policemen Wu Jianjun and Liao Junbiao from Hengyang County National Security Team broke into practitioner Ms. Wang Changyun’s home. They arrested her and ransacked her home. Her whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Tianjin] "610 Office" Police Arrest Practitioner Ding Yan and Ransack Her Home

At around 2:00 p.m. on June 1, 2006, personnel from the Tanggu District Police Department and from the Bohai Petroleum "610 Office" arrested practitioner Ms. Ding Yan. They took her from her workplace at the Water and Electricity Company of the Bohai Petroleum Group in Tianjin. They also ransacked her home. Ding Yan is presently being held at the Tanggu Detention Center.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Special Agents from Wuhan City National Security Bureau Arrest Practitioner Huang Xiaoying

On June 2, 2006, special agents from the National Security Bureau arrested practitioner Ms. Huang Xiaoying in Wuhan City. She was detained for over a month in October 2005.

7. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Zhao Guangyu and Others Arrested and Sent to a Brainwashing Class

Prior to the 2006 Dragon Boat Festival, personnel from Huadian City’s "610 Office" held a secret brainwashing class in Hongshi Town. They attempted to arrest practitioner Mr. Zhao Guangyu from Xi’an Village but were stopped by over 30 villagers gathered there.

The morning of May 29, 2006 when the Lantern Festival was fast approaching, agents from the "610 Office" again started to hold brainwashing classes. This time they tricked village township head Zhao Guangyu into attending a Township meeting. The "610 Office" personnel arrested Zhao Guangyu and sent him to the Huadian City Brainwashing Class.

That same afternoon, seven or eight personnel from the "610 Office" arrested practitioner Ms. Hu Xiuqin from Xi’an Village and sent her to the Brainwashing Class.

8. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Wang Helin Arrested

On May 22, 2006, personnel from the Dongchengfang Town Police Station, Zhuozhou City, arrested practitioner Mr. Wang Helin from Xiting Village, Dongchengfang Town and took him to the Nanma Brainwashing Center.

9. [Chongqing] English Teacher Tang Weide from Shiwan Town, Dazu County Sentenced

On September 24, 2005, personnel from Chongqing City's "610 Office" and from the Dazu County National Security Team arrested practitioner Mr. Tang Weide, a model English teacher from Shiwan Town High School in Dazu County and put him into the Dazu County Detention Center. After suffering from over five months of inhuman torture, in March 2006 Tang Weide was sentenced to three years of imprisonment with three years of probation. They also confiscated his computer, a printer, 19 cartridges of ink and an MP3 player. In the same month, Dazu County Education Bureau canceled his teaching contract, and his school fired him.

10. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Police Arrest Practitioner Chen Aihong

On April 30, 2006, He Yuhui and others from that Nanzhan Police Station, Zhangjiakou City arrested practitioner Ms. Chen Aihong. Prior to that, Chen Aihong had gone to the police station and office many times to clarify the truth of Falun Gong to them.

11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Couple Sun Hong and Min Huirong Face Second Court Hearing

During the morning of June 7, 2006, the practitioner couple Sun Hong and Min Huirong from Qingdao City will face their second court hearing at Lichang District Court in Qingdao City. In the first court hearing (previously reported on Clearwisdom.net) the practitioners and their lawyer debunked the faked evidence. The court postponed their case due to insufficient evidence.

12. [Beijing] Supplemental Information Regarding the Abduction of Practitioner Wang Lixin

At around 8:00 p.m. on February 14, 2006, Li Ning from the Puhuangyu Police Station led personnel from the Beijing Security Bureau, the National Security Group of the Beijing Police Department and from the Chongwen District "610 Office" and arrested practitioner Mr. Wang Lixin from Chongwen District at his home. They confiscated his personal computer and some other belongings. Wang Lixin was sentenced to two-and-a- half years of forced labor.

13. [Wiefang City, Shandong Province] Personnel from the Shuangyangdian Town Police Department Arrested Practitioner Sun Zhaoqin

On June 2, 2006, someone reported practitioner Ms. Sun Zhaoqin from Sunjia Village, Shuangyangdian Town, Hanting District, Weifang City to police when she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong in a street there. Personnel from the town's police department arrested her and ransacked her home around noon. They confiscated some Falun Gong books and other belongings. Now Sun Zhaoqin’s whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Qian’an City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Zhou Xiuxia Arrested

At around 4:00 a.m. on June 1, 2006, practitioner Ms. Zhou Xiuxia was reported while distributing truth-clarifying materials in Beiyangzhuang Village, Qian’an City. The police arrested her. She is being held at the city’s detention center.

Mr. Song Naiwen and Mr. Liu Wuquan were arrested the end of last year and have not yet been released.

15. [Shandong Province] The Persecution of Practitioner Zhang Ruxian’s Family

During mid May, railway station police arrested practitioner couple Mr. Zhang Ruxian, Ms. Li Hua and their daughter Ms. Zhang Min from the Shengli Oil Field when they clarified the truth on return to their hometown. They have been transferred back to the Shengli Oil Field. Currently, Zhang Ruxian and Zhang Min are held in the Oil Extraction Factory brainwashing class in the Shengli Oil Field. Li Hua was transferred into the Oil Extraction Factory Hospital on June 2 due to her heart disease.

16. [Shandong Province] Illegal Detention of Practitioners Song Guixiang and Zhang Meixiang

On June 3, 2006, the police arrested practitioner Ms. Song Guixiang and Ms. Zhang Meixiang when the practitioners were clarifying the truth of Falun Gong in a market. Now they are being illegally held at the Jiaozhou City Detention Center. The police extorted their family 450 yuan as "accommodation expenses." The detention term was 15 days.

17. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Liu Jiting Subjected to Secret Court Trial

Since practitioner Mr. Liu Jiting from Shijiazhuang City's unlawful arrest on March 6, 2006, he has been held at the No.2 Detention Center of Shijiazhuang City. It is reported that the authorities have tried him on May 19 at the Qiaoxi District People’s Court. His family and friends were not notified.

18. [Shanghai] Yuan Yahui and Two other Practitioners Unlawfully Held at the Jinshan Detention Center

Practitioner Ms. Yuan Yahui (56 years old), Mr. Huang Jiayuan (35 years old) and Mr. Chen Chen (33 years old) from Shanghai were arrested around May 13 or 14. They are being held at the Jinshan Detention Center in Shanghai.

Ms.Yuan Yahui's daughter gave birth on the day of her arrest, thus only Yuan Yahui’s husband took care of their daughter.

Huang Jiayuan's wife was three months pregnant. His mother passed away because of the pressure in the past few years. His father felt so sad that he is bedridden and needs care.

Chen Chen runs a small computer repair company (Shanghai Huixiu Computer Technology Co. Ltd.). The company was sealed on the day of his arrest.

19. [Xiuwen County, Guizhou Province] Zhang Xuexian Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Class

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Xuexian, in her 50s, is from Liuguang Town, Xiuwen County, Guizhou Province. She was arrested for the second time in December 2005 (Lunar calendar) for clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to local people. She was not released until January 2, 2006 (Lunar calendar). Due to her not giving up Falun Gong practice, personnel from the local government arrested and took her to the Lannigou Brainwashing Class again a month after she was released. She still has not been released.

21. [Chendu City, Sichuan Province] Li Guojun and Other Practitioners Transferred to the Qingyang District Procuratorate

It was reported that lawless personnel from the Qingyang District Caotang Criminal Police and from the Supo Police Station arrested practitioner Mr. Li Guojun and other practitioners. They were then transferred to the Qingyang District Procuratorate.

22. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Fan Xiuying Arrested

Practitioner Ms. Fan Xiuying, 69 years old, lives at the dorm of Southwest National University in the Yulin District, Chengdu City. She was arrested on May 23, 2006, when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials around the Sima Bridge and her home was searched.

23. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Zhao Guoqin Sent to a Brainwashing Class for Persecution

Practitioner Ms. Zhao Guoqin is a dentist at the Wugang No.2 Hospital in the Qingshan District, Wuhan City. On May 23, 2006 she clarified the truth to one of her patients, but the patient reported her to the police. On May 25, the hospital personnel colluded with local "610 Office" agents and tricked her into attending a meeting. Afterwards, they forcibly sent her to a brainwashing class.

24. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Zhang Xiuling and Li Yongjun Suffer Torture in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp

Practitioners Ms. Zhang Xiuling and Ms. Li Yongjun are from Changchun City. They have been illegally detained in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City for one year and nine months where they suffer from ruthless torture.

Their detention term had expired on April 17, 2006, but Zhang Xiuling has been informed that her term was extended.
